Harvey is a 2002 Bluebird Mini Bird from Bend-La Pine, Oregon! In January 2020 he was retired from service and over the course of 8 months transformed into a Tiny Travelling Home.  In February 2021 he made his maiden voyage down the West Coast, over to Texas and then back to North New Mexico where he now resides at "The Little Goat House".

"The Little Goat House" is ran by Tanya. Tanya lives in the cabin on-site and is available for emergencies. Harvey has a self check in/out system so please respect Tanya's privacy but if you see here around feel free to say "hi!".

For more information about the property check out: TheLittleGoatHouse.com

From Harvey's designated camp spot you will have epic views of large boulder formations just 2 lots away, as well as the magical Northern New Mexico sunsets. On clear evenings, you'll be treated to an unparalleled showing from the starry night sky. In our remote location, light pollution is essentially nonexistent.

What to expect:

Harvey runs on SOLAR!! There is a 300W panel located on the roof - this means limited power, especially on a cloudy day. With 3 commercial batteries being charged by the sun it should be enough to cover your daily needs. The fridge, charging phones, laptops and TV (provided) use should be no problem. There are 3 electrical outlets available to charge your devices provided electronics in Harvey.

Water comes from a 46 gallon water tank mounted in the bus.

This is a "no frills" listing and is designed to allow us to offer a quick, flexible, and unique space that can be booked last-minute, and can accommodate later check-out and earlier check-in times than many short-term rentals. This is accomplished by not having the need to clean and prep the space ourselves, which is where you come in. While the bus will be receiving regular deep cleaning, we ask that you leave the place tidy and clean for the next guests (there is a cleaning checklist and supplies for checkout).

DO NOT book this listing if you have any doubts about whether you will be completing the items on the checkout list without fail - we do our best to enforce policies with the rental, but it IS designed to be a self-run listing.

Here's what you'll want to bring to have a comfortable stay in the Harvey @ The Little Goat Outpost:

- bedding essentials: sleeping bags or sheets and blankets, pillows + pillow cases (small throw pillows are available — they are not fancy)

- towels/wash clothes/etc. if you plan to use the outdoor shower- shampoo and conditioner, if you require more than an all-purpose camp soap (please be aware of what products you use as this will run directly onto the land).

Here's what's provided for your use during your stay:

- TP

- 30in Smart Samsung TV  & HDMI cable

- card and board games

- cookware

- dishes and silverware

- REI "luggable loo" with pee and poo bags (pre-lined with substance that degrades waste and controls odor)

- small portable weber grill (BYO GRILL SUPPLIES)

For those who are interested, there is a standing opportunity to participate in a traditional Native American Sweat Lodge ceremony on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month on a nearby property with experienced elders. These ceremonies are free and take place roughly between 2:30pm-4:30pm, followed by a community meal. Help with lodge set-up and the contribution of a dish for the shared meal after the sweat is expected, and all participants must come ready to respect the ceremony in conduct/etiquette. Please express your interest in your booking inquiry message if you wish to participate.

Please make sure to read ALL information carefully PRIOR to sending a booking request, and consult with directions and rules etc. BEFORE directing questions through messages. Please include the 'secret passcode': "Mini Bird" in your booking request to let us know that you've read this far!**

***Prior requesting to book, please check out the weather forecast for Tres Piedras. Due to our altitude, temperatures can drop significantly at night, and it can also be quite windy. To provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date conditions, we have our own AcuRite weather station here at the Goat Outpost. You can locate the link to our Weather Underground forecast on our website, or search "Weather Underground, The Little Goat Outpost" to find us!***

This bus was amazing!! Everything was easy to use and the unique and thoughtful decor made it feel like a lovely home. Kyrie was very easy to communicate with and helpful with questions. The land is so beautiful, I loved watching the colorful sunsets and occasional thunderstorms passing through from the many windows! I even booked a 1-hour Goat Hike with Tanya the property owner and her 2 goats, “John Waters” and “David Lynch.” It was way too much fun!! I will definitely be coming back here again for a longer stay sometime soon!

Harvey was a sweet little piece of heaven snuggled at The Little Goat Outpost! We had a sunset dinner on the roof followed by s’mores by the fire and stargazing. The bus is so cozy with the perfect amount of space. The kitchen is so cute and the stove was immaculate. Waking up to the sunrise view from bed was the cherry on top.
