Edge of the Rez

Its dark, try to setup your camp before the sunsets. No light pollution unless there is a full moon. We are a primitive site with safe well water drawn from a sandstone bed. Walking distance to National Forest and 8 miles from Cloudcroft. Free-roaming horses, elk, mule deer, whitetail, turkey, and all critters in between. Awesome sunsets and perfect for stargazing.

Depree was a wonderful host! Very friendly and accommodating. Her property is very private and beautiful. Would def come again!
Depree's land was almost as amazing as she is! It was a gorgeous stay with views of the trees, mountains, wildlife, and the stars. We came on a windy day and she helped us to pick a good spot to help with the wind. We were about 45 minutes away from the gorgeous white sand dunes. The surrounding cities are cute and hospitable. Theres many hiking trails in the lincoln forest around to choose from, we did the trails at the trestle recreation center which was so cool. If you're looking for a wonderful gem to stay in New Mexico, Edge of Rez is it! Just be sure to a bring a jacket
The best stay I’ve had in my entire life. I didn’t get the chance to meet the host unfortunately due to packing sight seeing into one day, but wow BOOK ASAP. To listening to elk callings and amazing stars like you’ve never seen before - this is the most magical place ever.
What a wonderful experience! The land at Edge of the Rez was so stunning. Beautiful views and valleys, wild horses and elk. And Depree was an amazing hostess, always making sure we had whatever we might need. We will definitely return!
We loved our stay on Dupree's land. We hiked around and couldn't go two feet without seeing a new and different little (or huge) mushroom, tracks, all kinds of amazing things to explore. We could hear the elk butting heads every morning and evening, coyotes chatting in the night. We had a super fun fire in the teepee. Dupree herself was such a beautiful person and so lovely to our kiddos. She knows a lot about the land and wildlife that surrounds her. We learned a lot and my kids actually asked if we could live there when we left. Thanks Dupree for a wonderful stay and the memories we will cherish forever!
