Big Pants Ranch is a slightly developed ranch sitting on 6 acres in the Ponderosa Sub Division. BPR offers a good county road to the property with most roads covered by gravel for bad weather situations. BPR is perfect for pop-ups, tear drops, adventure vans and roof top tents. Secure and out of the way. Why be right next to another camper when you can have a great site all by yourself. Have a private mountain experience. Groups with more than one tent or more than one tear drop are welcome because we have plenty of room. Many trails and mountain roads for bikes and atv's. Section 4 for hunting and able to store trailers or atv trailers for longer periods of time during hunting season. A short drive to town for groceries but still secluded for that mountain experience. Tons of wildlife, wake up to deer in camp. Heron Lake and El Vado lake, Rio Chama and Brazzos River 15 minute drive. Chama train station and Chama Village center 15 minute drive. Pagosa Springs 45 minute drive. Big Pants Ranch is always improving on sites and experiences. Firearm/bow range available for use. /p>

My brother and his family from Durango, my sister and her family from CA, and me and my daughter camped at big pants ranch for two nights and loved it! John came by and told us where to go to find some great views and gave us a run down of the place. He was very welcoming!
We had a fabulous time, enjoyed paddle boarding at the nearby reservoir and just hanging out at the camp around the fire. Thank you for sharing the land, we enjoyed ourselves and it was nice to get out of the really bad heat. Good luck with all of your plans there. Beautiful area, AND loved the drive home along the Toltec-Cumbre railroad toward Antonito.

Second time staying here and absolutely love it! We were the only people there so it was nice and quiet. There’s plenty of shade for the hotter parts of the day, a great fire pit for the evening. You can easily spend the whole day here if you want to relax and chill but you’re also close enough to plenty of great spots if you want to explore as well. We will definitely be back!

Better than expected. The directions/landmarks to BPR were super helpful. The road after the main highway to the property seems maintained so it was not bad getting there, hill was somewhat steep but our AWD did well pulling our full trailer. Mr John greeted and escorted to the sites. The sites were very spacious and the views were amazing! Mr John was very knowledgeable and had some recommendations of the area for sightseeing, hikes and fishing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the stars were 3D! and the area was quiet as can be. It was a very relaxing weekend at BPR and we will definitely come back again for mountain side camping. We even went to Chama for lunch and a quick trip to the grocery store about 8 miles away, not bad at all.. Thank you Big Pants Ranch for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful property, take care.
