We LOVED our stay at the Hogan. It was so cozy and perfect for us. Such a unique place to stay, we will never forget our time there. All the little touches, down to the colorful silverware, made our stay so special. Lori was sooo nice, and super knowledgeable about the area. We really hope to be back some day!

What a unique little space! It was a great weekend get away! Close to Madrid and its cute little daylife and nightlife! Lori knows a lot about the history of the area also. I will definitely be back!

Truly a little piece of heaven in the desert! Every detail has been thought of in the hogan, and its eclectic beauty reflects the artists who so lovingly built it. Lori is an intercom buzz away if you need anything, but the hogan sits a distance from the main house so you have all the privacy and space you need. Inside, the hogan has a sweet reading nook, fully equipped kitchen, and super plush bed for cozy vibes. But you’ll want to spend time outside enjoying a little fire in the chiminea or stargazing atop the hogan. The hogan has a beautiful story, which is documented in some vintage photo albums, and the love and peacefulness it was built on can still be felt. Such a special place set in a really interesting part of the world. If you have the chance to stay as you’re exploring the area, do not hesitate to book! Heavenly hogan will be a highlight of your journey!

(The outhouse is also, as advertised, the nicest one you’ll ever visit.)

Outdoor area and all the remotes (one to turn on heater in outhouse!) were my favorite things about this space. So many beautiful touches. It feels really peaceful. Straw bale octagonal house was incredible. It does sit down into ground so not much airflow and it can trap some stale smoke smell (if you’re sensitive to smells). The soft roof panoramic views were beautiful and such lovely starry night sky! There are solar powered lanterns that light the way at night. Really incredible experience! And the hosts were amazing! Dan showed every aspect of the place and was super helpful. There’s even an intercom to communicate if you need anything (no cell service. Yes wifi). Highly recommend! Super close to Madrid NM and Cerrillos Hills hiking ($5).

I stayed at the Heavenly Hogan for two nights in November. I was looking for a quiet place to write and spend time in NM and the hogan was a perfect location for a writing retreat. It was clean, comfortable and creatively decorated. The hogan was easy to find. Lori thought of everything that a guest could possibly need for a comfortable stay. I spent the days in the cozy reading nook and the nights by the campfire or staring at the stars from the top of the hogan.

Amazing. My day started by meditating at sunrise on the roof of the hogan and ended with warming by the fire in the backyard, gazing at the stars. The hogan itself is outfitted with everything you could possibly want, and the short drive to Madrid or Santa Fe opens up so many possibilities for outdoor activities, shopping, or art gazing. The hosts were amazing as well - they provided all of the information I wanted, and then left me alone to enjoy their beautiful space.
