Twin Oaks
The tent site is situated beneath a canopy of two large Red Oak trees. This property was formerly a farm and has since grown back to a pioneer Hardwood Forest. There are stone rows throughout the farm and some areas that have been cleared of invasive vegetation and planted with native grasses to enhance the deer population.

Twin oaks was beautiful. I highly recommend it. There is only one spot so you can really just be your family not like other campsites where someone decides to blow up an air mattress at at 2 in the morning. If that person is you then this is the spot because you are alone. Good amount of shade with the trees. Very nice spot and host.
I was looking for an affordable and dog-friendly place to stay so I could hike in the Delaware Water Gap. This spot was very close to both the Mohican Outdoor Center and the Mt. Tammany trailhead, so it fit the bill.
Peaceful and quiet (ok, not that quiet, in early May the birds were out in force in the morning!). Nice to have access to a shower and bathroom down the hill in the cabin. I was kind of pushing it in my Prius on the access road up the hill, but I was fine, and just went slow.
Great one night stay at Stephens campground with access to a shower and a flush toilet! Welcoming hosts and a great campground.
I absolutely loved staying on Stephen's land. I am a HUGE camper, grew up in the desert of Utah so I camp a lot. One of my biggest complaints about East Coast camping is how on top of everyone you are well... this Hipcamp is the opposite of that. Stephen's camp site on his property is very private. You can't see their house or anyone else around. The campsite is incredibly clean with plenty of space. Stephen provided us with ample fire wood as well. Stephen as a host was incredibly accommodating and friendly. He gave us great suggestions for hikes and other things in the area. Lastly, it was dog friendly which is a major bonus and if you are lucky you will get to meet his amazing Mastif, Wally! I absolutely recommend this place!
Awesome spot to camp. Beautiful and private, no road noise and a great clearing adjacent to stargaze!
Stephen was so welcoming! Thanks again!
We loved tent camping at Twin Oaks! Unfortunately we only had one night to stay, but it was lovely! Stephen was so welcoming and friendly. He sent over two recent surveys of the bird species seen on the property before we arrived, met us at the entrance upon arrival, provided dry firewood, and spoke with us about the different environmental projects they've been doing. We will absolutely be back when we have more time to stay longer!
Stephen's site is great for a small group. It is a beautiful piece of land, has some great topography and he is a very accommodating and generous host. We were doing a two night winter camp and he provided plenty of wood so we could keep an ample fire going and we were lucky enough to get some snow so we could go sledding on some of the awesome hills. He also made some great nearby hiking recommendations.
This is such a great campsite, I really can’t say enough good things about it. Stephen’s property is beautiful and the site is the perfect mix of secluded and easy to reach. I was able to drive up no problem (2wd economy car) and yet it still feels quiet and tucked into the woods. There’s a gorgeous mix of trees and other flora and the site is a good balance of open and sheltered with enough rocks and landscaping for a nicely sheltered tent area but also plenty of trees and some open space as well allowing for sunlight to pour in in the morning. Easy access to clean water down the hill as well. This really is a perfect campsite and Stephen is a wonderful host and a joy to chat with.
This spot was great! Very private and nestled in the woods at the top of a hill. We were still able to get a great view of the stars. Stephen provided a great amount of firewood and kindling for us, and was a great host! We would definitely return to this site.
