Although we are only 2 1/2 miles from a main highway, the last 2 miles are on a dirt road with no houses. We are surrounded by protected land, so no neighbors and lots of wildlife, including the occasional bear or racoon. Keep all food items secured. Because we are surrounded by protected land we are not sprayed for insects, so be safe and do tick checks often and bring the bug spray. We are 45 minutes from NYC or the Delaware Water Gap and an hour away from the NJ shore. There are horse farms nearby that offer trail rides. We are also close to the Highland and Appalachian Hiking trails. The sites are mowed fields or partly secluded cleared woods. There are walking trails through our property, including a ten minute hike on a marked trail to a small waterfall in a ravine.

Gorgeous grounds + great host
The host could not be a more welcoming, warm person to stay on their property. The area has shops within 5-10 mins for necessities and the property is well tucked away in the woods, surrounded by great outdoor activities. I'd highly recommend it and I can't wait to be back soon.
Kathleen is awesome, helped me a lot in putting up my tent and given me a lot of advices regarding camping. Very accommodating and experienced. Showed me her current and future camping sites, excellent for 4x4 SUV’s. The moment you get to the dirt road and seeing the camp sites, you will definitely feel mother nature. Paradise Valley Homestead is highly recommendable !
We had a great time! The land is beautiful and our campsite (6) was spacious and we were able to enjoy a quick walk down see a waterfall. Kathy and Tom are great hosts. We are excited to come back next season and check out other sites and trails.
Really a paradise
My second tome at Paradise Valley Homestead was even more pleasant than my first. Kathleen is such a great host. She took us yo the new bridge the volunteer trail makers built in her land connecting the private trail to a longer one which gave us access to an amazing hike. She definitely knows what campers need and provides, or plans to provide, all the features an excellent campsite needs. This definitely became one of my go-toes for camping. Thank you, Kathleen!
We loved this camp site!! We felt like we were in the woods but still only 45 minutes from NYC! Our site ( #6) was a little set back from the rest of camp, but it made it that much more enjoyable. The host, Kathleen was very sweet and made us feel welcome. My young kids had access to a small playground and on the property is a 10 minute walk to a beautiful waterfall. Would highly recommend this place! They have a convenient outhouse in the communal area so no need for a camping toilet!
Wonderful stay close to home
This was our first time using our pop up camper. This property was great. Kathleen made sure we were ok and if we needed anything. Beautiful property. Make sure to do waterfall hike! We will be back for sure.
Unique northern jersey camp site
Stayed one night and was happy with the site. Camping sites ( 6 ) were accessed by a few miles of dirt road and were situated between the owners home and another residence with plenty of distance between the sites and the homes. There was fire wood available for purchase and use in a common area that had a fire ring, chairs, and hammocks. An outhouse was available and very well maintained. Amazingly secluded in densely populated northern NJ. Short hike to a waterfalls which looked pristine. Bottle house was interesting too. Pond in front of owners house looked like a great summer swimming hole. Surrounded by Newark Watershed land and reservoirs which require a special permit to fish.
Kathleen and her family were welcoming. I had some good conversation with them as i was getting set up. The accommodations were clean and adequate for my needs. I was the only camper there, so the site was super quiet. The site was large enough for me to pick a suitable tent location. Directions were spot on and the sites were easily identifiable.
