Amazing grounds to camp for a weekend on. Having multiple sport fields and activities available to our fearsome foursome was everything we could have asked for. We appreciated our host being thoughtful and helpful and for showing us around the camp. The site was also generously wonderful for a dog with all of the space to run and roam free. Wonderful weekend, would recommend to all.

Our extended family had a great weekend at Great Times campground. We were a large group ages 7-54 and it worked out well to have the whole place to ourselves. And to have it be so close to home since some of our nieces were juggling sports schedules. We were close to civilization but so remote and we didn’t have to worry about playing music or letting our fur family run free.

The facility is clean, but no-frills and the owner and a handful of workers were around during the day cutting the lawn and doing maintenance.

We spent a sunny Saturday at the beach. The lake water is definitely NOT swimmable, but scenic, and we took turns paddling in a row boat and fishing. A local fishing in the lake said he’d had lots of luck fishing there. But we didn’t catch anything. A small group of us drove to nearby New Brooklyn Lake and caught quite a few.

The LARGE firepit is in the area near the cabins and once we all claimed our tent spots and set up, it was a great home base for us to hang around, play games and talk. There were lots of trash cans with trash bags around. We had access to public bathrooms, but no showers. There is a hose by the firepit for cleaning up, but not potable water so bring your own. If you rent the cabin, you have access to an electric outlet. We used the cabin for storage but we all slept in tents. The cabin was clean with 12 small bunks and plenty of room for an air mattress if you’d prefer not to tent.

Will kindly left us a bag of balls to use in the various fields and courts.

If you plan to stay keep the following in mind:
1. Consider bringing a grill. There is not one there. So if you are not good with cooking over the fire (no grate) or eating cold prepared food, you’ll need one.
2. We were told we could set up camp wherever we wanted, but it made the most sense to set up by the fire ring. The issue there is that the fire ring is 300 yards from the parking lot. We assumed we could pull up and unpack our gear, but we couldn’t. So definitely pack according and consider bringing a hand truck or beach cart or wagon to get to the site. Packing in and out was HARD. Luckily we had lots of hands to do the work.
3. There is no firewood onsite. A friend of ours supplied us with some, but plan on driving to Walmart or research somewhere close by to buy wood.

Overall, it was a unique experience and a great rustic, weekend getaway.

What an amazing weekend! First of all, I booked for 10 less than 24 hrs before checking in and our host Will was very responsive and answered all my last minute questions at 6pm and helped ensure our stay was to be as expected.

We arrived and Will was there to meet me, leaving a bag of balls for basketball, soccer, etc. and gave me a tour of the grounds. 50+ acres, and lots to explore! When coming in (and packing up to leave) it is 2/5th of a mile (5 min walk) between the parking lot and the grounds, but Will generously left us a wheel barrel to push/pull our gear in, but do keep this in mind when packing heavy gear. Lots of tree cover at the grounds, here in October we had no need for ez-up canopies.

Lots of privacy! Will did leave contact information and was a phone call away at all times but otherwise we had the entire place to ourselves. There is 4 cabins, one of which was bundled in the package we booked. Inside was 12 cots that we didn't use for much other then storage but there were 2 outlets for electricity (bring a long extension cord and a power strip to power multiple lights/devices). Nobody slept in the cabin, plenty of space for 10+ tents without getting in the way of common area. Also 60 second walk to bathrooms that were clean with toilets, sinks, soap, paper towels, mirror, etc. There are showers but the water was turned off which is advertised so bring your own camp shower/wet wipes!

Cabin had drinkable well water hooked up to a high powered hose which was great to get some pressure for cleaning dishes... Massive firepit and 4-6 picnic tables so feel free to leave foldout tables at home as they can be a pain to lug in and out of the grounds. Dont forget to pack firewood or buy local, plenty of woods to forage for but ideally bring your own. If camping in October be prepared to be serenared at 7am by lots of geese/ducks on the lake. If you would rather sleep in, bring earplugs!

Grounds were very nostalgic bringing me back to summer camp days between all the sport fields and volleyball nets, but also playgrounds and a beach on the lake. Bring fishing poles and kayaks if you got them, its a short distance to carry a kayak from car to lake, or at least take some time to sit on the docks and enjoy the scenery.

Plenty of parking and local to gas stations and amenities but once in the grounds definetly has the middle of nowhere feeling that everyone hopes for when camping in the woods. 10/10, would love to come back again, thanks!

3 wheeled wheel barrel to easily bring our things in. Dog not included.Wide open common area with plenty of picnic tables.

We had a great weekend at Great Times Camp Ground. Just a short ride from Philadelphia, we were greeted quickly and shown around the grounds. Lucky for us we were the only campers staying here. We pitched our tent in a wooded area near the cabins that had been closed up for the winter. There was a fire pit (with a convenient hose) and picnic tables all around. The grounds are great for exploring. Plenty of activities like volleyball, basketball, fishing, and playground equipment.

We will certainly return again!

Great Times Camp Ground was a blast. Our group made great use of the tennis, volleyball, basketball courts. It was great to have so much activity space and then walk back into the forested area to camp and light the fire. Walmart and big stores were close buy when we needed to run out quickly. We left saying we want to make this an annual visit.

So fun, thank you Will!
