Stickney Forest Camp

This camp site is awesome and David is the man. The property is very big and the Camp site is about 200+ yards (3-5 min walk) from the house and very secluded in the trees. There is a big fire pit and David generously provides more than enough (well seasoned) firewood for the whole stay. There is tons of room to pitch a tent, and while the site is in a small incline, it really doesn’t effect much at all. David, has a toilet hidden a bit away in the woods too which is ideal too.

The sunset was beautiful both nights, and the stars were outstanding. The bugs were pretty average, but bug spray was useful. They really go away at night.

The location of the property is ideal. It boarders the white mountains, which gives you access to tons of local hiking and adventures. We spent our two days on Squam Lake. The water was too nice to not go back. If going to the lake, would recommend launching your boat from the Squam Lakes Association which is open to the public.

David is a passionate and sincere guy. He takes great care of the property and is there if you need anything. More over he is super interesting to talk to and invested in making sure you have a good time.

10/10 would recommend. Pretty isolated, great property, host, price, location, and amenities. My girlfriend and I had an awesome time.

The camp site at David's was amazing. A secluded beautiful place place. The camp site is well maintained. A great view, fireplace, and place for your tent. I would definitely recommend this site, and will hopefully stay here again!

Lovely spot, very private, pretty trees, and nice sunset. Very convenient and easy to find. A fair amount of road noise from the highway. Great stop over point on the way up to the Whites. David was super nice. Good value.

David's place was amazing! So private with a great view of the sunset. Had a wonderful two nights here while exploring all of the activities in the area. Would love to come back!

The stay was wonderful. Beautiful place. David helped us to firewood, water for the fire, and tried to accommodate us in any way he could. Great place and great host!

Stickney Camp was great for us. We were a party of four spending three days doing day hikes in the Franconia region. We went at a busy time of the year and the state forest campgrounds were full so luckily we found Stickney camp. The camp is a half hour drive from the trailhead for Mt. Lafayette. Our host Dave gave us plenty of firewood and he has an excellent firepit which was really nice at the end of the day on a cold night and also in the morning. You do hear road noise from 93 but that is unavoidable anywhere in the Notch. The camp is very private. There is a primitive toilet in the woods nearby. I'd stay here again.
