Visitors enjoy swimming, at the waterfall and Baptismal, hiking on brookside trails, wildlife watching, jumping on the outdoor trampoline and making art in a stunning Natural setting. Dartmouth students named Dave's place Shantytown after he gave them used building materials to build Shanties on the green to protest apartheid in South Africa. Students from India told Dave that Shanti means Peace and so Peace Town became Shantytown! A special place celebrating Truth, Freedom and the Natural World. Here you can see Deer, Bear, Bald Eagles, Mink and plentiful fish.

Shantytown is an active recycling and renovating enterprise. Please help keep safe by leaving areas better than you find them and watching out for others.
