It was so cute and cozy and the best location if you like hiking in the area! Close to town if you forget anything but still feels secluded when you’re back at camp. Definitely would stay again.
I arrived to a gigantic pile of topsoil in the middle of the driveway. I guess they're going to try to cover up all the rocks and subsoil after ripping out all the trees. There's a solar setup but it was not plugged in. A small EcoFlow was available with a very limited charge. I sat on the bed and almost sunk to the floor. Next day I looked under it and one of the beams was not attached. I slept on the futon. Shower and sink did not work, but there was a camp shower in a box. I guess the guest is supposed to set it up if they're so inclined. Very dead cornstalks tied to the entrance. And honestly it wasn't that clean. Might be nice in snowy weather

Overall, we had a good time. The site was definitely remote and allows for relaxation in nature. Unfortunately, the highlights of the Yurt were some of the utilities (outside shower), which was not in working order. Host was friendly and made sure we got our firewood. We always love places we can bring our dogs.
Amazing secluded Yurt. Close to town and black cap trail is beautiful
Peter's yurt makes getting off the grid and into the woods incredibly easy for city-dwellers. Convenient location, but really feels quiet and isolated. The bed is comfy, propane fireplace keeps the place very warm, plenty of space for two people and a dog. Such a nice night away!

The yurt at Hurricane Mountain exceeded my expectations - roomy, clean, and comfortable. Great location, easy access to hiking. Peter, the host, was quick to answer questions and provide information. A great overnight getaway. I look forward to returning again, when I can spend some more time sitting on the deck, building a fire, and relaxing in a beautiful location.
The location of this yurt was fantastic - close to town but isolated enough to see all the glorious stars! My dog and I loved the warmth of the stove, the host's focus on sustainability, and the simple beauty of the site and it's environs.
The Off Grid Yurt is a wonderful getaway. We enjoyed our stay - the stars and the mountains are breathtaking. We hiked Black Cap which is one mile up the street. The stove kept us plenty warm with temperatures dipping into the 20's at night.
Peter was a great host - he was immediately available by text as we were figuring out the propane stove. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
