About This Site

This carry-in/tote-in tent site sets on our small, frog pond. There is a 9'X9' tent platform, picnic table, and fire ring. Room for additional tents.

This remote carry-in site gives the feel of deep wilderness backpacking just 400 feet from your vehicle. The path is somewhat on the steep side so use our heavy duty gear-cart/wagon to tote your gear in.

When possible, we will tote your gear with our ATV shuttle.

There is a toilet tent with flushing portable toilet and a secure bear enclosure for your food and coolers.

Catch and release trout fishing is free for children under 16 yrs, with adult supervision. Trout feeding is encouraged. Trout pellets are available near the firewood bundles.

Arrival Instructions:

This is a self check in site

Drive down the driveway and park to the left of the ATV Port. See "Carry-In Parking" sign. Please do not block ATV Port. Use the green Gear Cart under the ATV Port and carry your gear passed the end of the driveway and down the "Two Ponds Trail", (see sign). Pass the first pond (Frog Pond) to the Trout pond.

About The Area

Camp North is located directly on the "North Country ATV Trail System", the "Stratford Nighthawks Snowmobile Club Trail System", AND, the "Ride The Wilds" trail system. Access over 1000 miles of ATV trails right from camp. There are many fantastic lake, river and mountain vista destinations within half day round trips from Camp North.

Just down the road, on the Connecticut River is a "Connecticut River Paddlers Club", canoe/kayak launch, at the "Maidstone Bridge". (with sign in box). Half day and whole day trips are available. You can put in up river and do half day or whole day river trips back to Maidstone Bridge OR put in at Maidstone Bridge and paddle south. NOTE: this section of river is the only primitive section of the entire Connecticut rivers length. Most years, including this year, there is an active Osprey nest atop the Maidstone Bridge. (we can help with shuttle service)

There are many trout fishing opportunities in local lakes, ponds, streams and rivers. We have a small private trout pond where kids can feed our brook trout and do "catch and release" fishing. There is a rec room with pool table and music system at the host's office, for campers use.
