Beautiful, vast, views!
Carolyn was wonderful - I was greeted by the dogs and cats, Carolyn and a beautiful sunset. I slept in my vehicle, but the camp site was beautiful, grassy, flat and protected by evergreen trees. Easy to find and just a 15-20 minute drive to town.
Stayed just for one night on my trip across country. Carolyn & Dean were incredibly kind and generous! Arrived later than expected and was met with Carolyn's warmth to make sure I had everything I needed. Awoke to an incredible sunrise and then promptly backed my car into a ditch and got stuck. Sigh...complete blunder on my part! Dean trotted out with a warm smile, kind words and helped me tow my car out, no questions asked. Highly recommend this site for the hosts! They went above and beyond. Thank you so much.
We winter camped in our vehicle one night at Rural Respite while driving cross country. Carolyn was super responsive to our initial questions about reserving the site and was great about communication and making sure we had an easy place to park our vehicle when we arrived. We had a peaceful night's rest and it was well worth the short drive to get out in the country and enjoy a quiet overnight stay away from the interstate and typical RV parks. Great host, great experience!
Carolyn and her family were lovely hosts, in a beautiful location. With a storm on the forecast, she offered shelter inside if I needed it. The yard for camping is spacious, grassy and shaded by trees. Highly recommend if you're in Nebraska to camp!
Carolyn and Doug are so hospitable and thoughtful. Their property is amazing, with a lot of shade trees and some great views of the plains. We may stop back next time we are passing through.
Great respite from a long road trip
Carolyn is a warm and welcoming host. She was very friendly and oriented me to the property upon my arrival. She also gave me privacy. I arrived at dusk and got my camp set up and enjoyed the evening breeze. My dog and I had a nice long walk down the road under the stars. We hit the road again first thing- very convenient to I 80 and a lovely country environment.
An enjoyable stay
We had fun leaving the interstate and driving county roads through a pretty agricultural area to Carolyn's home. It was very windy, so she suggested setting up our tent near our vehicle and her trailer, which helped shield the tent from the wind. In better weather, her ample yard would have been a perfect spot to pitch a tent. Our kids enjoyed playing soccer in the yard, and we all enjoyed a visit from her friendly cat in the morning.
