You can Park your RV or pull behind trailer at any one of our sites and let the meadowlarks sing you awake with their unique and beautiful song. Open your eyes to the rosy hue of a prairie dawn, right outside beautiful Gering, Nebraska.
Sites have recently been upgraded to 50 amp electricity, and are located near our horse corral, with easy access to delicious well water. Please note: you can fill up your RV tank from your site with a hose we provide but you cannot maintain a water hook up during your stay. A well-maintained portable potty is available mere steps away. Gray water dumping (only) is permitted.
No matter where you camp on this property, you will take in a stunning view, with easy access to the 200+ acres of private prairie bordering the Scotts Bluff National Monument. The land features a beautiful canyon, and easy access to bluff formations memorialized in pioneer journals as they traveled west.
No open flames or fires are allowed anywhere except in the communal fire pit provided, and only when conditions are safe to do so. Ask Lisa or Frank if a fire is possible when you check in. Fireworks during Independence Day are expressly forbidden.
To the north, the land features beautiful canyons full of berry trees, wildflowers, yucca, cactus, wild catnip, a wide array of native prairie grasses and medicinal plants. Let the sweeping view expand your consciousness. To the south, view the patchwork glory of Nebraska farm country with corn, beans, alfalfa, and sugar beets as far as you can see.
We are inclusive: No matter who you are. No matter the color of your skin. No matter who you love. All people are welcome here.
Site rules:
We have two dog companions on the farm. Charley, a medium-sized lovable mutt, and Cyrus, a gentle giant Great Pyrenees. Both dogs love to greet campers but Cyrus is rather large, so let us know if this makes you feel uncomfortable and we'll keep them in the house when you arrive. Meet and greet check in is from 4 p.m. until dark. We have only one site that is safe for after dark check ins, so please let us know in advance what your needs are. Please note: If you book a site that is not safe for after dark check in, you will be moved to the site that is safe for this.
Pets are allowed only by special permission. MESSAGE THE HOST BEFORE BOOKING. Unleashed pets are not allowed on the property specifically because of the risk posed by coyotes and rattlesnakes; however, leashed animals are welcome with permission by the host. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pet.
While allowed in the campsite, no glass containers of any kind are allowed on the prairie. A trash receptacle is provided at the home site (where the meet and greet takes place) for use when you leave the site. You are responsible for your own refuse (leave nothing behind in the campsite nor on the prairie).
No firearms allowed anywhere on the property.
Wildflowers exist on the prairie and should not be picked nor should stones, antlers or artifacts be removed. Likewise, wildlife homes are evident on the land in the form of burrows or holes in the sides of the canyon and on the prairie. It is extremely dangerous to investigate these holes, for they are another beast's home, and tragedy may result. Please do not insert anything into the burrows or holes.
All Federal and Nebraska state laws are recognized on this land.
You are responsible for your own safety, pay attention where you put your feet and your hands while hiking. The campsite and prairie grounds are on uneven ground, step carefully.
Guests should wear appropriate shoes and long pants, as this is wild natural land where *rattlesnakes make their home.
*A note about snakes and other wildlife: While a variety of snakes are mostly seen in the canyon, on the rock hills, sometimes on the road near and around our corral area, it is not likely you will see one. Should you encounter any snake on the prairie: Slowly back away and exit the area. Under no circumstances should you approach the snake, follow the snake, or try to tease or hurt the snake. If for some reason you are bitten by a rattlesnake, stay calm and immediately call 911. At the earliest possible time, please report any sightings and general location to the camp host.
Other wildlife seen in this area include: Meadowlark, Great Horned Owl, White Tailed Deer, Coyote, Opossum, Raccoon, Skunk, Badger, Fox, and a variety of birds of prey.
Coyotes are generally not interested in people, but do protect the boundaries of their territory. If you encounter a coyote: Stand your ground and make yourself as large as possible. Slowly back away from the animal while making a menacing sound. Do not run nor turn your back on the animal.
Note: Those who do not follow the site rules will be asked to leave immediately.

Lisa and Frank's spot is absolutely gorgeous! You sit directly behind Scotts Bluff National Monument and get your own private view of this beautiful and historic monument. The hiking on their property is wonderful. I had a lovely time hiking, watching the sunset, and chatting with the horses. Stop by the Scotts Bluff National Monument Visitor Center. It's just a few miles from here.
This camping spot was beautiful! We can camped in the prairie and had the best experience, beautiful views, peaceful surrounding and went on a great hike in the morning. Lisa is wonderful, kind and very helpful. We love absolutely love to come back!
We are just leaving Rose Hills RV spot and feeling filled up. What stunning scenery including geological formations and corn fields stretching out as far as the eye can see. Lisa was delightful as where her horses and dogs. We hope to be back.

One of the best locations EVER! The view and access to Scotts Bluff is unparalleled .
Super fun! We got to be out in the fields (basically) right at the bottom of the bluff. Lisa showed us a great little hike that we did in the morning with the kids. Really enjoyed this tucked away treasure.
Great place in an amazing location. Very simple, but the privacy and the surroundings are simply unsurpassed. There is room for at least two, possibly three large RVS but only 20 amp power. We were able to run two rv's off it but only one air-conditioner.

Our family of 5 really enjoyed our stay. A very quiet property with delicious cold well water. Lisa is a great host and even brought one of her chickens to greet us. We loved meeting the horses in the pasture and seeing the cows that came to check us out. The best part was hiking up and on to the National Park Service lands. Breathtaking views - we’d love to come back and explore some more.

Thank you so much, Wayne and family! We really enjoyed having you here, and are now totally addicted to Mateo's Gourmet Salsa, thanks to your lovely gift. Thank you, and please do visit again. - Lisa and Frank
