Located on a private 28 acre Hay Meadow, Sharptail draw offers open views with rolling hills and ample wildlife. During your stay at Sharptail Draw you may see White Tail/Mule Deer, Sharptail Grouse, Pheasants, Ground Squirrels, Badgers, Coyotes, and Foxes.

To get to the site campers will pull through the gate onto a two-track road, and follow the trail along the fence to the end of the pasture where you will find the sites. Please drive slowly on the trail next to the fence, and park in the designated parking area marked by a log and t-post. Each spot has a designated fire pit.

There is no hunting on site, but is located near multiple points of public access and forest service ground.

What to do and see: Chadron State Park, City Dams, Carhenge, Walgren Lake, Fur Trade Museum, Fort Robinson, Fur Trade Days -2nd weekend in July, Bands on Bordeaux -Every Thursday evening in July.

What to eat within 20 miles: Country Kitchen, Dominoes, Pizza Hut, Taco Johns, Runza, McDonald's, Subway, Champs Chicken, China House, Helen's, Arby's, Far West, Wild's Bar and Grille, Fryday's 120, The Ridge.

History of the Homestead: Sharptail Draw is part of a bigger Homestead consisting of 590 acres. The Homestead was originally founded by Frank DeHaven in the early 1920's and has been in the family ever since, minus a small period during the great depression. Today the ground is used for beef cattle and hay production which sustains the homestead.
