Great, quiet place to camp! It was a cold night and Iris offered me a blanket to double up with my sleeping bag. It was needed and appreciated!

The property was pretty with a very spacious spot for our camper. Our kids loved running around and exploring on the property.
This is a jem tucked into the northeastern corner of Nebraska. Iris, the camp host is a joy. Our first full day staying here was raining and gloomy. No worries, Iris asked if we would like to jump in her pickup truck and see some sights. What an incredible experience. We saw where Lewis and Clark came ashore and camped, beautiful woods and landscapes, a tiny house community (some of those tiny houses are stunningly beautiful), ancestral locations and much more. Wild life (that we saw while there) numerous deer, turkeys, coyotes and more species of birds than I've seen in one location. The campgrounds itself is clean, mowed, litter free, spacious and quiet. They have a corn crib (opened) turned into a comfortable social area, chairs, tables, mood lighting and fun signs and interesting window frames, it's a real hoot! Midway between the 2 camp site locations is a Morton building. I side this building is a coffee corner which is fabulous! Coffee makers, microwaves, sink, little refrigerator tables and comfortable seating. I've never seen anything like it before. All this you are welcome to use if you wish. Sites have no electrics or water. Sites do have composting toilets, fire rings, shade and more than ample room to set up your outfit. Site 2 (where we stayed) also has picnic table, swing sets for the kids and fun painted wire spools for use as you need. They have mowed walking paths and a very nice short walk to Trinity Hill. This Hill is a magnificent place for contemplation

Iris was the best host! We came in during a storm and she sheltered us in her basement until it was safe. The land was gorgeous and the sunset/sunrise, amazing!

I loved this little spot. Mike and Iris have created a cozy little space with some nice amenities for the whole family, including a very comfortable compostable toilet. Iris had an appointment in the city and got home later in the evening but still made sure to stop by to check on me. This is definitely a great place to camp if you’re visiting nearby Ponca State Park.
Iris is the most wonderful host I've ever met. She embodies the perfect balance of being there for you if/when you have questions, but allowing you privacy if/when you wish to be alone with the beautiful nature around you. Additionally, she always kept me informed of any changes that may be happening on the farm, and works tirelessly to keep up the place.
Camp Carlow is picturesque and quiet. The night sky is big, open, and highlighted. Both the sunset and sunrise are spectacular. The grounds are well kept and I could hear the sounds of nature. Bunnies scurry, and birds sing to welcome the mornings. Owls hoot at the universe at night. Deers frolic (not kidding or exaggerating) along the corn rows. And Katie the "watch cat") guards you from any possible threat 😁.
I love the place!!! I will always make this a special stop on my travels. It's truly a hidden gem, and I miss the people and the place.

Iris was an amazing host! Wish I had more time to explore the area but it was a late arrival/early departure. Would definitely be back if I am in the area again!

Iris has great enthusiasm about being a hip camp host , welcoming and informative . Nice touches for guests!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, wish it could have been longer than an overnighter. We had Site 2, which was quite large but with lots of privacy and seclusion. Our 20 ft travel trailer was about the largest RV I’d want to put in that spot with the tight turn getting in and the overhanging branches. Iris was a wonderful host. She couldn’t have been more friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I’m still amazed at the peace and quiet we enjoyed in the middle of the Labor Day weekend!
