This is a self-serve campsite located on private land immediately adjacent to the Boulder River, near Boulder, MT.  It offers the security of being the sole campsite on private land, with the ease of quick access to a paved highway (300 yards of paved secondary road, followed by 330 yards down a private dirt road).

•This site is located within a short drive to public land (7.5 miles to USFS (Elkhorn Road); 6.5 miles to BLM (Dry Creek Road); 2.5 miles to BLM (Highway 69 south to Hadley Park Road).

•This site provides immediate access to the Boulder River for fishing or other water-based recreation. Please note that Montana’s Stream Access Law allows for water-related recreation below the ordinary high-water mark. Although the campsite is private, the access to the river is not exclusive as the upstream bridge allows for public access to the river (and we respect the public having access to this resource). Please be respectful of other river users.

•The Boulder River does not typically have water flows to support any floating-based recreation. Most recreation includes wade-fishing for rainbow and brown trout.  You can find more information on stream access visiting MT Fish, Wildlife & Parks website.  This is also where you can purchase a fishing license from (or L&P Grocery in Boulder).

•Pack it in – Pack it out: We offer no trash services. Please take all of your trash with you prior to leaving.

•Camping: Please camp in the area around the metal-fire ring (not too close though).

•Campfires: A 30" metal-ringed fire ring is on site. Use this “designated fire ring” or your self-contained fire pits only. Please do not make other fire rings with rocks and make sure all fires are completely out prior to leaving site.

•Hiking: You are welcome to hike and explore within the fenced pasture where the campsite is located, approximately 30 acres. There are no designated trails and you do so at your own risk of hazards including ditches, brush, rocks, insects, and wildlife (note both bears and moose have been observed on the property in the past). Please help us respect our neighbors and stay within our fenced property or within the river’s high-water mark.

•This campsite is located on a stretch of the Boulder River where flood irrigation is a common agricultural practice. This can result in a high number of mosquitoes present along the river from June-August. This can vary depending on temperatures, amount of rainfall, and other factors that affect the mosquito hatch.

We hope you enjoy your stay, please provide feedback, especially on anything that is not transparent in the description or rules.  Thank you,  Dawson Family

Note: The mosquito hatch has arrived.  Please be prepared for mosquitos, especially in the evenings.

I camped with my son, three grandchildren, and large labrador retriever. The spot is secluded, surrounded by trees, near the river and large enough for our two vehicles, two tents, camp kitchen and several chairs around the fire pit. There are no camp spots or houses nearby, so there was no noise and my lab was free to run around the area and explore. The river was nearby, so everyone fished, and the kids and dog played in the water. The river is slow enough and shallow enough for the kids to play in safely in several spots. I highly recommend this spot for a secluded getaway. A big thanks to the owners for sharing this property!

The area was spacious, fairly level with green trees surrounding your camping site and a river access close by. The area includes beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

We had a wonderful time at the White Bridge Lane campsite. The location is great and access is very convenient. We had a mid-day commitment in town, and it was quick and easy to run in and back (a nice change from the miles of gravel roads we typically drive to get to camp!) We took our camper (about 23 ft from hitch to rear bumper) without any issues and had plenty of room to turn around. The kids had such a fun time catching fish in the river and we scouted out what looks to be a perfect swimming hole for later in the summer. I liked the fence, especially with young kiddos (ages 6-10). Besides the security of not having other vehicles driving into/around camp with littles running around, it made it easy to communicate a physical boundary so they didn’t wander off and get too close to the river without an adult knowing. Eased this mama’s mind! The mosquito warning on the website is real- make sure to bring bug spray. Thanks Dawsons, for sharing this beautiful place with us- we have our next trip booked and are excited to come back!
