we feel so lucky to have found Rogers listing and stayed on his land. During a cross country RV trip with our toddler and dog we were looking forward to finally spending 2 nights somewhere in Montana, and this spot was perfect. Totally secluded and private, he has a ton of land and only wants to rent to 2 renters at a time so that everyone really can have wide open spaces to themselves. Incredible sunset and night sky. It has no hookups, etc. but we could use our generator and the kitchen in the RV to cook. A short walk away (albeit through some very high grass) we had our own totally private beach next to the river where we played all day and enjoyed the trains and kayakers passing by. There’s a shooting range within a short distance away so you can hear them shooting when outside, basically during all hours with sunlight. But the sounds that initially felt a little shocking to us and especially our dog, we all got used to pretty quickly. Roger was a very sweet host. Helping us find our camp, offering suggestions for where to fish in the river, or find things in town. He was really available and super helpful, checking in on us once each day we were there to make sure all was good. Would totally recommend, and would stay here again!
Roger was a phenomenal host and his property is gorgeous. I backed my truck camper up against the river and enjoyed the sounds of the water all night. If you are into stargazing like I am, this is the place to go. I was able to see the entire Milky Way stretched across the horizon. Had a lovely time and will visit again.
Open space! with a river!
This place was so great- I had to stay 2 nights! The host, Roger, was very kind and informative. He has two sites at his ranch, but you wouldn’t even know there is another camper. Each site has its own river access. That is what I loved most about this place. My dog had a safe place to run and swim. We both had such a great time here.
A hidden gem near three forks, mt
As the title says, Roger N.'s land is truly a hidden gem! If you are looking for a private, affordable, and fun way to enjoy the beauty of Montana, look no further. Roger was a wonderful host who worked hard to make our experience a good one. The campsites are rustic sites, situated on a beautiful stretch of land next to the Gallatin River. As others have mentioned, there are train tracks nearby, but they weren't bothersome to us. Our dogs had tons of room to run and enjoyed playing in the river near our campsite. We did a fair bit of fly fishing and brought in a few rainbow trout. We are definitely looking forward to coming back to stay again.
Privacy on the gallatin river bank
On a private field on the banks Of the Gallatin River. Over a mile of private river access. Two sites very separate. No shade. A big water loving dog who likes to run their brains out would love this site. We fished both days and there are a lot of fish in the river. They were bubbling the water with a new bug hatch one morning. Rural but not far from Bozeman. Lots of wildlife. A bottle of wine with our feet propped up on the bank in our camp chairs watching the river flow by was pretty nice. Roger is a great host. Owns this family farm. You are nowhere near a house or structure. Quite private .
Farm is located five minutes off the interstate. Farmer Roger met us at the driveway and lead us past fields to the campsite. He very excitedly gave us tips on things to do in Yellowstone National Park. He only rents out two sites on his land, and the sites are a half mile apart, so it feels like you’re out there alone. Site is located next to a river. Noise considerations are that across the river are train tracks and a shooting range. But we didn’t find the noise extreme. Would recommend!
It was great, our first trip in our RV. Even though the freeway was near by and there was a shooting range a distance away, it didn't bother us. We swam in the river which was great fun! An eagle sat in the tree across the river from us so we felt very blessed to be in the presence of such a majestic bird. Roger, our host, was delightful we invited him to come visit with us and he stopped by for a bit and we had great conversation. This RV stuff is new to me and off the grid is what we wanted and is what we got!
Site was nice and Roger is very kind and welcoming. He went out of his way to make it an experience for our family. There was a small beach area on the river where our kids were able to play. High recommend.
