A quiet stay and a simple process..
Lawrence was quick to respond and extremely helpful with tips and information on camping in the area. Would definitely recommend!
Ed and Kris are jewels. We had a number of wonderful conversations with them as they checked in on us each night to see how our day went and where we’d spent our time. They’re were greatly attentive to our needs and interests. Theirs is a beautiful plot of prairie even devoid of trees. We stayed by the pond and enjoyed the views and the occasional waterfowl.
On a cautionary note, if you plan to stay in a tent you might reach out to the hosts to gauge the wind speed around the time of your stay. We experienced approximately 45 mph during the day (confirmed by our hosts) and an estimated 55-60 intermittently all night for the three nights we stayed. As you can imagine, this challenged sleep. This may not be your spot if you’re tent camping.
On the other hand, some of our party stayed in a camper, so if you are camping out of an RV or trailer you might find it a more reasonable camp experience. The night sky is stunning and devoid of light pollution. The daylight offers a beautiful rolling prairie punctuated by Heart Butte and other mountains. Though perhaps a bit austere, the scenery is quite beautiful.
This land is situated about 70 miles from Many Glacier on the east side of Glacier National Park, so if that’s your destination you might give some consideration to camping closer. The property is, however, situated closer to Two Medicine, so this could be the place for you if that’s your preferred spot.
Ultimately, we cut our stay short due to the persistent wind (some of us were tent camping, after all) and the distance we were having to travel to get to the park. But it truly is a beautiful place.
It was fun camping on the high plains within sight of the Rockies in Blackfeet country. An added bonus was meeting Lawrence and Chris and their dogs; they made us feel like visiting relatives. It gets very windy, so tent campers take note. We collapsed our tent during the day to make sure it didn't get damaged--that worked out fine. The new camping surcharge from the reservation is not welcome. Hopefully Lawrence will be successful in negotiating a solution.
Excellent, quiet spot! There’s room for 100 big rigs! :) We saw more stars than ever before!

Lawrence and Kris were great hosts. They were very communicative and were there waiting for me in their truck with their friendly ranch dogs when I arrived. They even made me coffee in the morning. The drive down to Heart Butte from Browning is very beautiful and gives you a nice tour of the Blackfeet Nation's land that you might not see if you stuck to the main highways (you will need a conservation license from the Blackfeet Nation, but they are only $20).

Jodie’s Jump was the absolute highlight of our trip! Ed & Kris are the most generous charming souls we met. They were wonderfully communicative and welcoming and their property is beautiful. You can see Glacier, Flathead forest, and the sweet Heart Butte that the town is named after. We look forward to coming back to visit every chance we get!
Ed and Kris were amazing hosts! We were a very last minute reservation and they accommodated us perfectly! They made our first Hipcamp experience an easy blessing! We enjoyed the serenity of their beautiful property and would gladly visit again! Thank you!
