It’s a nice spot for a good view and electrical connection. I was the only one there but wonder how close others would be if the parking area was filled up. The last two miles of road to the site is really bumpy like others and the hosts description says. Also the lot was filled with what someone called thistles. There is an outhouse on site which is convenient since I’m a truck camper without an onboard toilet. Just beware that the path to the outhouse is very steep and not wheelchair accessible or even friendly for anyone with mobility issues.
Not great for tents or kids.
It was fine for a single night. The lot was covered in thistles, which means we couldnt let the kids outside at all. The drive to the site was rough, and the bathroom was really far from the campsites. The experience would have been better if we had a camper, but this site is definitely not meant for tent camping. Also did not seem kid friendly, which I wish we would have realized ahead of time.
The road to get up there is a little rough, but totally worth it! Jake is a friendly host, and was even able to help us out with a little pet sitting while we were away from the RV!
We had a nice quiet time here. The road is bumpy so take it slow. There is no sign so look for the street number on the west side. We missed it the first time. Beautiful stars. Nice to have electricity for the night.
Stayed for 2 nights. Road was described as a "bit rough", that is a complete understatement. The last 2 miles of this road is the worst road I have ever been on, and I live in rural Northern Michigan. Also, the restroom area is located down a fairly steep hill, I am 8 months pregnant and found it difficult to get down to. Two good things about this camp is the price and there is electric hook-ups.
Great stay, terrific host
We had a good stay! Jake was always present for assistance, but also gave us plenty of space to enjoy. The price was right and the views were wonderful. As for those who spoke about the last 2 miles of private road, sure it's bumpy but just take it slowly. Compared to many Forest Roads we've negotiated with our fifth wheel to reach obscure boondocking spots, this road was trivial.
Safe place to park and sleep!
I was only looking for a place to park and sleep safely, so this hobby farm met my needs perfectly. Bare bones, no services, but the host was kind, helpful and responsive. I never saw another soul besides a cat, a kitten and some lovely chickens. The road out to the site is rough and gravely, so go slow once you are off the tar. All in all, not a place to hang out for hours, but safe, clean and definitely a good deal for the money if you are just looking for a safe place to sleep. Would use this place again, if my needs were the same. :)
