Although the camper site is not far from their house, we felt we had plenty of privacy. Brett and Chris communicated well with us. Beautiful views, peaceful, quiet. Several trains went by but they were not an issue. We would definitely stay again.
Montana 5 star hipcamp
This is a great place to stay! Brett and Chris have thought of everything to make your stay awesome with a lot of attention to details! They both are the nicest people you could meet and so flexible on whatever makes your stay work. The setting is up on a hill overlooking the valley along the Yellowstone River area. It was very easy for us to park our 24 ft RV. It was great to have 30 amp hookup. It is so peaceful, bunnies and a deer were right by our site. The train isn’t really that close and was a very comforting sound-we didn’t think it was an issue at all BUT we had to mention it since everyone does. If this is the only thing that people have to bring up, believe me, this place is pretty close to perfect! The little town of Columbus is really cute and it’s nearby. Thank you Brett and Chris for sharing your little piece of Montana magic.
The only reason this review was not rated great was due to the train noise during our stay. There were. 6-8 trains that passed by the property (across the highway) during our overnight stay. Chris was a wonderful host and allowed us to sit on the outside patio as we enjoyed our dinner snd enjoyed the view. The property was well kept, had electric, and water to fill containers was available.
If you don’t mind the occasional train passing by during the night, we would definitely recommend staying with Brett and Chris!.
We fell in love with this space upon arrival! After staying at KOAs, this quiet, spacious, private landscape was such a dream! Nestled along a hillside with gorgeous views all around, we rested in hammocks, played soccer in the yard with our pup, and had one of our few truly restful sleeps on the road.
The hosts were accommodating and patient (we arrived later than we estimated)- and as we were packing up we both agreed we’d easily stay here for a another night or two. It’s a sweet space and would recommend it to anyone.
Disclaimer: it is near train tracks, and the occasional train runs through. This is a very familiar sound to my partner and I so we had no issue with it- found it comforting, in fact!
Worth it just for the stars!
Good space with electric and host was very helpful when we struggled to get our water tanks full. Wasn’t aware of how close we would be to the hosts home (spot is in their driveway) but it wasn’t an issue at all. Loved the patio chairs and hammocks available to use, perfect for viewing the stars at night.
This place was great! The Hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The site is great. They even have a table and rug set up for us to use. The porta potty was the cleanest we have ever seen. The view was beautiful. Their is a train very close, but it was not loud and it did not bother us. Water and electrical, as they promised. We stayed here and went to Yellowstone...this enabled us to take the Bear Tooth Scenic Byway and the north entrance....we HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Bear tooth by way, absolutely stunning! Their is also a free public fishing/river acces about 3miles up the road...we went swimming here. The kids loved it, it was beautiful and perfect on a hot day. If we are ever in the area we would definitely come back! Thank you for hossting us!
