There is a lake east of the farm that is surrounded by a pheasant club. We do not have access to the lake, but can enjoy the view.
We have a mix of terrain.

The vibe at Trees, Lake view, Rock buttes!
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
This wasn’t the best or the worst campsite! Very (emphasis on very) rustic camping conditions. Once we were let through the gate we went on a long dirt road through the middle of a field to the campsite. Very much in the middle of nowhere, not always a bad thing, but could’ve had been slightly more well up kept. You’re definitely camping in cattle field....
We loved it!
Bill did a great job hosting, communicating both before and after our arrival to make sure we made it and that everything was in order. He met us at the famous red fence, gave us the lay of the land, and helped escort us to our chosen site. This is an active ranch, with a country charm for the Billings area. Loved the 360 views from the butte, and waking up to prairie dogs all over. Plenty private and definitely will consider it again if passing through the area. Thanks, Bill!
Beautiful ranch with a number of campsites and an exclusive camping location on a butte. Very private if you don't mind having an occasional cow nosing around your campsite. The ranch owner, Bill, was very gracious and accommodating.
This hipcamp was great. Bill met us at the gate and gave us several options for campsite on his expensive ranch. We chose the butte which had terrific views. There was one other group but there was literally about 1/2 mile between us and them. Would highly recommend staying here
Great camp spot situated on a scenic pasture, lake in the distance, and lots of wildlife. Hosts’s communication was excellent! If we had any questions they were prompt with a reply. We comfortably fit in the spot with our 25’ airstream! So much room to roam! We will definitely stay again!
Out there with the cows
We camped on Bill’s farm during a cross country move, and it was just what we wanted. A safe, secure, and secluded spot to drive right up to, pitch a tent, steal a few hours of sleep and then get back on our way. The cows were so friendly and so chatty - I thought this was wonderful, some may be less enthusiastic about the sounds of cows! Bill was super fast and helpful in his communication, and even offered to lure the cows away if we wanted (we didn’t. I loved them.) He even offered us a choice of scenic sites on his land. We chose the lake view and were delighted to see the stars overhead and to hear distant coyotes in the night. If you need running water or infrastructure of any kind, this place might not be for you. If you want a scenic camping spot and are self-sufficient, this is a great option.
We had an amazing stay! This ranch is absolutely gorgeous, and waking up to a sunrise over the buttes is so special. The hosts are truly welcoming and accommodating!!
Lovely place to stay
We loved staying here! The campsite was just outside of town but felt very private. We enjoyed hiking to the butte and seeing prairie dogs and antelope. Be sure to bring $5 cash for wood (and to ask permission) to use the fire pit! It made our night.
