Peaceful and quiet with great 100-mile views, surrounded by lots of wildflowers, wildlife, and the pleasant aroma of sagebrush. Parking area is reasonably flat. Remote subdivision on 4500-foot ridge, 10 miles from Columbus exit 408, off of Interstate 90. You will be the only guests; and residents, like me, are no closer than 250 feet. Your camping spot is near the road for easy access, but the road is private and dead-ends just beyond my property, so traffic is very minimal.
My desire to become a host was to give others a chance to experience what I have been fortunate to have at my doorstep. Besides the surroundings, I strive to provide my guests with info about the area; after you set up your campsite, I will come over and be happy to answer any questions.
If you value secluded spots, please be aware that you will be in the complete open - but this gives you spectacular, unobstructed views 🙂. Also, there are no fleas, but ticks are common (minimal this year), and rattle snake encounters are possible, but uncommon. Nighttime animal encounters could be a mouse, deer, or the neighbor's cat.

arriving at night felt like i landed at the top of the world. in the morning, though the view was obscured from wildfire smoke, it was clear that i was on one of many many peaks visible from 360 degrees. justin accommodated me on short notice and stayed up late to see me to my space. he was also able to tell me a lot about the area and the landscape. highly recommend!
Peaceful. quiet + friendly host
Even with smoky skies, this hilltop location offers welcome peace, quiet and views of nature. A bit off the beaten path but worth the scenic drive to get there. Justin is an awesome + welcoming host (and a cyclist) who shared some great travel tips!
Beautiful, peaceful little spot on a ridge in the foothills. Even with some haze from wildfire smoke during our visit the views were still beautiful. Firm grassy parking area that was easy to pull in and out of with our 27’ TT. Maintained gravel road with some hills to access the site (maybe 5-10 miles), we had no problems getting there. Justin was very kind and took time to share local knowledge and show us plants on a hike on his property.
