Shaded Retreat is conveniently just off the RT 89, shaded, and just a short drive to Glacier NP, that’s the plus side of this HipCamp. Road noise was not a problem for us.
I don't think it's the best place if you have children. There is lots of old equipment and supplies sitting around the camp, a roll of barbed wire, and two rusted barrels full of rusted paint cans. The area where the picnic table and firepit were needed to be mowed.
Would definitely recommend!
My friend and I had a lovely stay at the Shaded Retreat on our way up to Glacier. The directions were extremely clear, and we didn’t need to interact with the host once! The site was clean and quaint, a convenient distance from the main road but noise wasn’t an issue.
We had the best time in this spot. We were secluded so we could be loud and our pup could be off leash the entire time. He loved it. We had so much fun the first night we ended up booking a second night. Access to the river was slightly harder then expected. But they have an amazing spot with some helpful tools/firewood in a camper on site. Beautiful night sky and shade all day. It was excellent
The site was awesome for what we were looking for! We were on our way through to Glacier and decided to make a stop for the night. We got there as the sun was going down so even though the road was close, you couldn’t even tell with the trees and seclusion. The creek on the property was great to throw a line in and watch the sun set. I was nervous to get back to our site as someone had previously commented about tall grass and low vehicles being an issue. We drive a civic, but the grass was no match, it was easy to get back to the site! I recommend to anyone who is driving through and wants a secluded site.
The space was kept well and the firepit and wood available was awesome. Not ideal for a low riding car to drive through the field to get there and could hear the highway traffic all night. Nice private spot for small gatherings with plenty of wildlife!
