The peninsula campsite was perfect for our summer camping trip! Beautiful views of the lake with adequate privacy. Loved seeing the goats and being so close to the hiking trails.
Great place. Very clean. Cool sites.
This site was absolutely perfect for me and my dog that doesn’t really like other dogs! Was also great to have our own swath of land to relax and the sunrise was GORGEOUS. I will absolutely be back!

Really loved the privacy of the spot, watching the sunset across the lake was awesome. Not sure this would be fun in the middle of summer, no shade. We went middle of May and when the sun was at its hottest we just went to the awesomely shaded sandy beach and swam with the dogs. Beach was awesome and the showers were awesome too!

Beautiful place, second time camping here. Horses, Beautiful lake nice campgrounds, nice showers. Definitely will come back and possibly getba lake front cabin
A grest area to camp. I have been here a few times.
The lake and surrounding area is absolutely beautiful and it was so nice to see the animals in the pastures too. The hosts were nice and the campsites are clean.

Chiggers heaven!
I took the Peninsula site because suddenly the main sites by the lake were 'not available' for the first night of my two night stay.
That first night it looked like only one campsite of the five was occupied.
While the Peninsula site was pretty, the main campsites do not have the long grass where chiggers live.
After I left the chigger bites were awful!!
My husband and I stayed at the Private lake peninsula, and it was beautiful. We loved being greeted by the bison and cows. The campsite we stayed at had the perfect view of their horses. The only complaint about our site is the rocks when staking our tent down was a struggle. Not to mention we threw half of them away when we packed up due to damaging them on the rocks.
When we first came in and checked into the store the teenager working couldn't answer most of our questions we had. We also encountered the same thing later with a different teenager.
Also, the other thing that kind of gave us mixed feelings is that this place almost seemed like a resort. They had a pool, kayak rentals, day rentals, and a lodge. I don't really feel this comes across in their description on hipcamp. I would still recommend someone staying here, but I was thrown off when I got the resort feel. Maybe just a new updated description on hipcamp would be great for future campers.
Lastly, I don't know if this was just bad luck, but
we stayed three nights and every night dogs barked in all hours of the night. I don't know if that will always be the case, but just a heads up if you tent camp.
