This area provides a Missouri Ozark border region "Front Porch Experience".     There are no artificial lights, so views of the sky are very good.  There are country sounds like birds, coyotes, horses, frogs, and occasionally a vehicle on the gravel road. If you have a group of friends and family that want exclusive use of the area that may be possible.  Just contact us and we can work out the details.

In addition to camping, you can walk a trail or canopied gravel road to stretch your legs.  Feeling adventurous? One mile to the north, there is a old iron bridge that is closed to vehicle traffic. It has a plank floor with some missing planks.  Locals fish from it. It is a great place to take artsy pictures.  You can walk, bike, or ride your horse on our county road. The WORLD famous Katy Trail is a biking/walking trail that was re-purposed from a railway. It is about a 15-20 minute drive away.  A local chef ( 8 miles away) makes THE BEST carry out pizza on friday and saturday nights.  About 20 minutes away in Boonville with many dining option, and Columbia of course has everything.  There is fishing available from  our own privately owned access to the Petite Saline creek. The stream is quiet, slow backwater whose level depends on the Missouri River level.  Access is not ideal, but determined canoers and kayakers will enjoy the rich biological diversity including jumping Silver Carp.

Great quiet place - we’ve stayed here several times and enjoy being out in the Missouri countryside. Just off the highway so great for a cross country trip. Several flat tent spots to choose from and the grass was recently mowed where the sites are. We were the only ones here mid-week.

Picturesque, very private (we were the only ones there) and remote, though fairly close to town. I was very pleased to discover a camp sink. In the morning, we met Doug and he invited us to watch him feed the horses. We were happy with the overall experience!

We’ve stayed here several times now and it’s always peaceful and quiet. Beautiful full moon and lots of fireflies! A short distance off the interstate so it works perfect for our cross-country trips. There are several nice flat areas for
our tent and the site is always recently mowed. Only one other campsite was occupied. Doug always stops in to welcome us and answer any questions we have about the site or places to explore In the area. We will return again.

Was the only camper there. Was very peaceful and quiet. A bit off the beaten path but worth it! Doug stopped by for a chat and was a great host. Hope to get back one day and do the add on bowfishing tour!

This site had a great farm experience. Our boys loved playing in the giant bails of hay. The red barn, rolling hills and combination of wooded/open grassy area made it perfect for us. Perfect plays to see the stars and enjoy a campfire. The horses and chickens down the road were icing on the cake.
