Ever wish your campsite was more private? We currently allow only one party at a time at this premium location. You will be the only party to use the area during your stay. The view is incredible and unobstructed. Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. Your site is on a hill top, topped with a tree house in a huge White Oak. Ten minutes from I-70. Most campers set up under the tree and just hang out in the treehouse. However, some campers with a smaller tent choose to camp in the Treehouse. (The tree house is not a house until you put your tent on it.) It is a deck that is well made and has solid guard rails. The location is over 200 yards from our residence and is very private. In spite of the remoteness, free high speed Wi-Fi with no password is available at the site. We have never had a camper tell us that they had no phone reception either. The view is amazing in ALL directions. Native Americans used this location heavily as evidenced by abundant stone artifacts. They were the original campers here! The best view is of the Missouri river bottoms. I'm sure this is why the Native Americans used this site. Wildlife is abundant. It is usually very quiet except for the frogs, birds, coyotes, and crickets. There is a camp faucet on site controlled by a hydrant about 150' away. Electricity for charging phones, etc. can be accessed at the barn. We have a full size, but not ADA, portable toilet at the barn.

Doug was so wonderful and helpful! Every point of our stay was made easier because of him. It was so nice waking up and seeing the horses and he even shared some fresh eggs with us from the chickens! We would definitely recommend this camp site!
Great campsite. Beautiful views. And the owner is great. Nestled on a farm with horses, chickens and a few dogs.

Nice location, great tree, friendly hosts. And horses!
So fun! How lucky are we that Doug has decided to share this special spot? October was chilly but beautiful and we cozied up to the fire. We shared a bottle of wine up in the tree at sunset and watched the horses graze. We felt very comfortable and welcome on the farm and had a surprisingly good nights sleep up in the tree!

Staying at Doug and Brenda’s farm in the Big Oak Treehouse was such an amazing and unique experience! Doug an Brenda were very welcoming and kind. Doug even started our fire while we set up camp. They have a couple of dogs that hung out with us a bit that were both adorable and sweet.
We set up our tent in the treehouse, and I’m so glad we did. The view was beautiful, especially at sunrise and sunset. Being surrounded by the branches of the big oak tree was so magical.
They have horses that were beautiful and so friendly! They met us at the gate every time we went through for pets and love. A couple of them in particular were so friendly they were like big dogs. We were able to watch them move several horses from one pasture to another and had a close (but safe) view as they galloped right past us. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience. They also have free range chickens, and we were able to get our breakfast eggs fresh each morning right out from under the chicken.
The farmhand Johnny was so kind and helpful. He gave us a ride through the pastures on his four wheeler and loaded us up with firewood. He was a really cool guy who we enjoyed getting to know.
I very highly recommend staying here. We had a blast exploring the area, star gazing, and relaxing by the fire. I can’t wait to go back!
Doug and Brenda were amazing host! Their farm hand Johnny was so helpful and kind. This campsite is one of a kind! The horses and chickens made the trip even more fun and the dogs were so sweet! Can’t wait to go back!
Love this place. Doug, Brenda and Johnny are great hosts on a great property.
