Our large shaded full hookup deluxe RV sites are located on a hilltop high above the Niangua River and Tunnel Dam. Guests can access the river via 4x4 vehicle or a short hike down to the stream on our property, or a short drive down the county road to the ‘whistle’ (large gravel bar) for swimming and fishing. Also within a short drive is Tunnel Dam, Lake Niangua, Ha Ha Tonka

Our sites are brand new & are still a work in progress!

Rootwad is a very secluded campground. It is a very nice location and very quiet. The bathroom and shower house is nice and clean. We have a 34' travel trailer and pull it with a crew cab shorted F250. If you are much longer than that the 90° turn at the bridge on the road coming in might cause you some headaches. Also the directions tell you to look got the two green gates. There are currently no green gates at the entrance. Look for the Canning road sign instead and the NoTresspassing sign with the welcome Hipcamp sign above it. Overall we would recommend this campground for a nice relaxing getaway.
Perfect quaint spot for a busy holiday weekend! Campsites are spaced appropriately with lots of grass and ample tree cover. A picnic table and fire ring are included. The restroom is very new and clean with a flush toilet and shower. Worth noting that electric boxes only have 220 plugins so 110 adapter would be needed. Absolutely would stay again!
