Raftville sets on the site of an extinct town in Texas County.A general store and post office called Raftville was established in 1916, and remained in operation until 1933. The community was the launch point of log drives, hence the name.

The lower sister were underwater from recent rains- understandable but would have been nice to know as I was communicating particulars about sites. Sites could use some numbering as the caretaker had no idea.
Very peaceful and serene spot, however would not recommend to families with children or single females as there is a great deal of “traffic”, ( random folks stopping in and looking for whom ever lives in one of the trailers on the site.)
Seeing a handgun in the waist of some dudes jeans was discomforting.
We made the best of things.
