Monarch Hill Vineyard.

It's a nice weekend getaway if you're in St. Louis. It's the ideal set up if you have four couples/families looking for a secluded spot to yourselves with running room. Otherwise, the sites are as close together as a typical campground, and there is a possibility of being at the mercy of your neighbors in terms of peace (I personally had to listen to a couple next to me getting enthusiastically frisky, but, while loud, I've heard songs that lasted longer than those shenanigans). The host Darrell is about as cool/chill as it gets, and I recommend the vineyard tour.

I’ve hitchhiked all across America, and this was hands down one of my best experiences under the stars. Darrell was awesome and has crafted a truly unique experience. My girlfriend and I will absolutely be back here soon!

What a beautiful place! And the hosts, Darrell and Jeanna were just great. I arrived after sunset and they showed me to to the site - my site was ready, furnished with the firewood I pre-ordered. The sites are close to pumped well water, an outdoor shower and a shelter in case the weather turned for the worse. It is a great alternative to car camping at larger sites.

Monarch Hill was a very relaxing camping site. The property offered camping trails and scenic fields of the area. The location was awesome for visiting the nearby parks, trails, and wineries.

My wife and I had a FANTASTIC stay at Monarch Hill Vineyard! Their property was beautifully maintained, quiet, and peaceful. Darrell and Gina were both very welcoming and hospitable throughout our stay. The instant lightning and a down pour happened, I got a message from Darrell asking if we were OK and needed to get inside. They also have 2 adorable dogs that welcomed us when we arrived and each morning, and with us being dog people, we enjoyed that. They do not beg at all; they just chill out with you. We loved it! We had been in the area a few years prior and got amazing recommendations from Darrell for what to do around town. We also opted for their vineyard tour and learned a lot more than I had previously on other tours I have taken in the past. It's a true happy place for us now! This is a must stay for camping! Thank you Darrell and Gina!

I booked Monarch Hill Vineyard for a 30th birthday celebration & included the self indulgence session. Darrell was super friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this location for anyone wanting to see Hawn State Park, Pickle Springs, or Ste. Genevieve, as all are within 30 minutes of the location. Tucked back & away from the crowds, you will certainly enjoy your stay here. BOOK THE SELF INDULGENCE.

Gorgeous, private setting and a perfect setup for four groups staying together (though if you don’t know each other, do note that the sites are close together with little privacy). Be sure to note there is no running water immediately nearby, and no showers or toilet, so be ready to use a shovel!

Monarch Hill was such a lovely, idyllic camping spot! The views were fantastic, the little bit of tree cover in the center of camp was perfect for a hammock, the paths around the property were perfect for short explorations. And the camp hosts were super friendly and helpful. I definitely look forward to future camping weekends here!
