The half way point for many river trips is just a few miles away. In addition to the river, there are many other nearby things to see and do- Echo Bluff State park, Current River State Park, Montauk trout park, the wild horses of Shannon county, Alley Spring and Mill as well as other cave/rock/water attractions. Our location is also great for dark sky viewing , either here on the farm or at local, sponsored, events. The area is truly an outdoor lovers paradise.

The Dogwood cabin is a hand built, tiny cabin (204 sf) perched on the glades of Conway hollow.  If you have ever wanted to experience tiny house living or life on a small homestead, this cabin is for you.  This is a grid tied solar cabin with no conventional outlets, cell phone coverage or tv's. There are, however, usb ports in  the cabin for your gadgets but  wifi access is weather permitting and much slower than in most places!

Everything but food and drink are provided for you! All linens, soaps, shampoos,  dishes and utensils are provided. There is a small fridge, microwave and coffee pot in cabin as well as indoor bathroom/shower. There is a queen bed in the loft and full size day bed on main floor.  Charcoal grill on deck with  nearby fire pit  grill as well as a large covered/lighted pavilion with picnic table and wood fired stove/oven, large charcoal grill,  butane stove, hot/cold running water, microwave and fridge

The charcoal and kitchen firewood (except for oven- has added fee of $25 per day) is provided. A small amount of campfire wood is provided, downfall is free and extra wood can be purchased for $5 an arm load. All you need to do is bring food and drink! Farm fresh eggs and breakfast basics(pancake mix, oatmeal, eggs)  are provided in outdoor kitchen.  Garden produce  (seasonally) and other farm products can be purchased on site. Although, we are very rural  there  is a small,  well stocked, convenience store/ canoe kayak rental  1.5 miles away.

Come enjoy all the beauty that the local area (Shannon county and the Ozark National Scenic Riverways) has to offer then retreat to the cozy cabin and the quiet of the forest.  we are MMJ friendly

We had such a relaxing time at ItzaWayzBack. My husband and I planned to venture out and explore, but we were too comfortable in the cabin. The only time we left was a day-trip to visit City Museum in St. Louis (because we had never been) and a drive to Eminence to get phone signal to call Mom on her birthday.

Dining - The cast-iron grill on the porch is perfect for hot meals. There is a grate on the fire ring for campfire cooking but 26 F was a bit too chilly with the convenience of a porch grill and coffee pot for hot water. Microwave is available. We only used it for scrambled eggs (no one likes scraping eggs off of cast-iron). The outdoor kitchen is fantastic. I want my home kitchen to be like this!

Drive - 4x4 is not necessary but recommended. A higher ground clearance IS recommended. My FWD Honda Element made the trip no problem but my Chevy Malibu probably wouldn't have. Our AT&T Cricket phone service lost phone signal 16 miles out, and data about 10 miles out. GPS worked the entire time.

Stay - The beds are incredibly comfortable memory foam. The daybed mattress feels softer but that may be the bedframe. All bedding is provided. And the wonderful heater. My goodness. Even though it got down to 26 F the first night, the loft bed was SO WARM.
So many radio stations! I put a little AM/FM pocket radio in the loft window and the whole cabin was "surround sound" on the lowest volume. The water had already been turned off for the season (as per the HipCamp description) so potable water was provided and the coffeepot warms just enough water for a wash-rag bath.

Bonuses -
-This is the cleanest, easiest, funk-free compost toilet I've encountered.
-WiFi is available if you want it.
-Once the sun goes down you can hear so much wildlife walking through the foliage. I wish we brought night-vision to see what all was frolicking out there.
- DOGS!! We sat on the porch and listened to local dogs communicating from every direction. I love dogs so this was a huge bonus!
- Oliver is a precious Pyrenees mix who loves butt scratches.

We had a great stay! The place was so beautiful and had many little touches that made it so great. Beds were cozy, cabin was clean, there was coffee / tea / condiments / eggs and some homegrown tomatoes for us to use. Everything we needed for cooking and eating was available at the amazing outdoor kitchen.

Farm is off a gravel road about 1-2 miles, not an issue just noting that for anyone not expecting it.

Unrelated to the cabin - we floated the current river through Carrs - it was very convenient; about a 10 minute drive from the cabin. The river was beautiful but a bit crowded. I've done other stretches of the Current or even Jack's Fork and seen way less people. Might be worth driving further to if you prefer a more secluded river experience.

No shampoo / conditioner available as indicated so bring your own.

Response from marie, the Host, on September 23rd, 2021

hi lauren, Glad you enjoyed your stay! Since yall booked thru hipcamp, I will only respond to this for educational reasons. The soap/shampoo in cabin is castile soap. It is a universal soap. It is used because the cabin has a grey water system, meaning it is used to water plants and trees, therefore, all soaps are completely natural so they dont harm the environment or plants.

Very peaceful and hidden gem
Surprise that no window coverings!

Although we are awaiting delivery of blinds, the photos accompanying the listing show very clearly that there are no window coverings. To give a "mixed feeling" review based upon this is slightly amusing and should have not been a surprise.

This little spot was a gem of a find! We just so happened to pick a great weekend for experiencing Fall in the Ozarks and Itzawayzback was a beautiful place to call home for a couple nights! The location is surrounded by parks and trails, we chose to do Rocky Falls and Devils Wall/Cave Springs trails, highly suggest both! The kitchen on the propert was fully stocked with plenty of cooking supplies. I definitely plan on making much more use of that space next time! We will be back!

Absolutely beautiful. Nice, clean cabin in the trees (autumn when the leaves are changing was a perfect time)!

Marie was very helpful and gotta love the complimentary hot coffee she drops off on the porch step each morning! Such a quiet and relaxing stay. :)

We loved staying at this beautiful cabin! Perfectly tucked away, complete with stunning views, a comfy bed, and warm coffee each morning. This cabin would be such a treat anytime of year, but the trees sure were showing off for autumn this past weekend. We loved it!

What a peaceful little slice of heaven. We had a great stay. Loved fresh coffee in the mornings, Charlie the pig and Oliver the pup. The outdoor kitchen is amazing! Just a 5 minute drive to 2 state parks that we took advantage of. The cabin was so cozy, enjoyed coffee on the deck in the morning and wine in the evening. Hosts are just across the property if anything is needed. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
