Places to see near Heidi H.’s Land
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
My partner and I just wanted to find some place remote for the night and this place did more than deliver! We were so lucky to find this on such short notice. Heidi and Aaron were wonderful hosts and their land is a treasure. We will be sure to come back and for longer so we can pet more animals and hike around! Highly recommend this spot!!
A great trip at a great place!
We were very happy with our stay here. The hosts were welcoming and willing to share their knowledge about the land and were very accommodating! Although i would say that the campsite was more set up for backpacking, we were able to set up while staying close to the car with no problem! It had been raining for a week prior to us getting there, so as a result the firewood was wet but luckily Aaron was nice enough to give us a few fresh pieces to act as fire starter while the rest dried out. The property has many different conservation areas and State parks very close by, of which we took multiple day trips too, such as Meramec conservation and Washington state park.
We highly recommend visiting their house/farm area as the farm animals are a must see for both being sweet to pet along with their entertainment value! It sounds like they plan on expanding and clearing out more of their land to add more campsites and views, we think this is a wonderful idea and look forward to coming back sometime in the future to see the progress!
Overall our trip here was great and one to be remembered, we highly recommend!
Gorgeous camping and wonderful host
Wonderful hosts! Camping by the waterfall was amazing and the hosts and farm animals were friendly and welcoming! There are several different campsites available which lets you choose between car camping and primitive camping. Great location close to Meramac State park and many other options and Heidi and Aaron gave great recommendations for exploring the area. They even took me raspberry picking on the property which was a special treat. Highly recommended and I will definitely be back!
Best camping experience ever!!!
My wife and I stayed with Hagood this past weekend. We were able to make a last-minute reservation and Aaron and Heidi met us at the end of the driveway 9:30 PM to take us back to our campsite. The campsite was incredible! 100% primitive, and well maintained. Aaron brought us the firewood we ordered, and they both gave us the "lay of the land". The property has around 7 miles of cut trails complete with a creek and active waterfall. Our site was isolated and very secluded. I don't know if there were any other campers on the property, but if there were, we didn't hear anything at all. Aaron and Heidi are very welcoming, and hospitable, and made us feel like old friends right away. If you'll be in or around Sullivan, do yourself a favor and camp at Hagood Farms! I promise you'll be glad that you read this. Now that we've found them, we won't be camping anywhere else! A+ and 5 stars! We couldn't be happier! Thanks Aaron and Heidi for making your property available and for being awesome!!!
The Host was just amazing! They helped us settle in well and were quite welcoming. I would recommend this place for camping. Hospitality 10/10. Would definitely go back again.
Peaceful and secluded. nice trails.
Very peaceful and private location. We went on a hike and saw a natural waterfall, petted very friendly horses and mini donkeys. Got a really close view of long horn steers and goats. Heidi and Aaron are great! Very friendly and interesting to talk to. Their land has a lot of potential.
Pretty, wooded farm with friendlies
since rain was in the forecast i was parked on the side of a pretty country lane.....i think next time ill bring something to drive on so i can be closer to the animals though i was glad the rooster wasnt too loud. the waterfall is great for bathing.....bring your woods boots. lots of paths.
A bit of a walk to the campsite but well worth it. Tent camping at the camp site next to the waterfall was peaceful and beautiful. Camp site itself had a nice area cleared of grass but the ground did have lots of small rocks in the soil so I guyed out my tent using some large rocks to anchor the tent stakes. I would take a cleared spot even with some pebbles underneath as there was no place for ticks to hide in the area around the tent. Be advised that this camp site is a little remote but the spring and creek were lovely and there are other sites on the property if you don't feel like primitive camping. Lots of trails to explore right on the property and 15 minutes or so to Meramec State Park. Fantastic hosts.
