Clear creek, trails & sweet dogs!
I loved camping here! Michelle was easy to communicate with and met us at the gate as soon as we arrived. She gave us a HUGE lot right above the creek. We were near a small road which worried me, but there wasn’t much traffic and everyone around was very friendly. It is just 5 minutes from town for any necessities.
The ground was nice and flat and the particular lot we stayed on had a fire pit and a park grill. There was a small sheltered shed that had benches under it as well. It was just the three of us, but would also be perfect for a larger group!
We were very close to the portapotty and shower house. My favorite part were the dogs. They were incredible companions all weekend!
The property and clear creek are just serene and gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your slice of heaven on Earth with us!
Beautiful, friendly spot!
Super campsite, and Paul and Shelly were very hospitable and friendly hosts! Sites are well-spaced and relatively private, and we really loved the scenic creek that runs right behind the campsite. We took our chairs down to the rocky banks and enjoyed the sunset on our second night. Lots to do in the surrounding areas as well! Floating outfitters nearby were closed for the season, but we hit up Johnson Shut-ins and Alley Spring & Mill during the day. Tons to do and see all around! There were several super friendly dogs that liked to come and check on us and keep us company, and the firewood was also very generous and good quality, which we really appreciated. We enjoyed our stay a ton and would absolutely come back again!
We loved staying here. Michelle was very kind and showed us around her property. There’s a huge creek right next to our site and she had a hammock up for us. There were so many cute dogs running around and letting us pet them!
Michelle greeted us as soon as we arrived along with her sweet dogs. The campground was well maintained as was the out building and shower. Big open space to see the stars and moon. We enjoyed our stay very much and will book again when in the area.
I cannot say enough about how beautiful the campsite was and how wonderful the hosts were. The area of Ellington is beautiful and everyone in the town and surrounding area were just as nice as could be. We really loved the hosts and the campground. If you enjoy primitive camping this is definitely the spot. We are tent campers so I can't really comment if you are taking an RV or anything, but so many trails for ATV's and beautiful crystal clear streams all along the property. We will 100% be back some day, we hope to make it an annual trip. Thanks so much for the wonderful memories.
Last warm weekend of the summer
It was the last nice warm summer of the season, stayed two days and two nights and floated the Black one of those days. Slept great the first night, even had to set up while it was getting dark. That was a breeze! Second night, it was a little noisey. A groups of off road vehicle riders decided to hit the trails around 10/11pm and they rode well into the am hours. My kids didn’t wake up at all but my boyfriend woke up in a panic thinking we were under attack. Pretty funny! As always love Shelly’s property and thankful she likes to share it!
