Campers paradise describes it well!
We were first met by a customized sign welcoming us to the farm, then Barbara was waiting at the gate to welcome us. We were the only people staying here on a (summer) Friday night. We were shown all three sites and decided on #3. All three sites are creekside and offer more privacy than a state campground. Site #3 has good pool in the creek about 3 feet deep with a flat rock bottom and also has a shallow spot where the water flows through the rocks creating beautiful background sounds. There were a ton of huge tadpoles and I caught a bunch of little sunfish and bluegill in the creek on worms. I also went for a swim in the creek. It has cool flowing water. We had our 2 dogs with us and they also had a blast. They did a lot of playing/swimming in the creek. Barbara hauled a of our gear down to the camp site for us with her 4-wheeler and trailer and also provided us with water! We didn't get to do a ton of exploring because we only stayed one night and we were to busy enjoying the creek at the camp site. At night it really comes alive. You can sit by the fire and enjoy the sounds of the wildlife around you. We woke up to thunder in the distance and started packing. Barbara came down before the rain and helped us load up to beat the rain! I plan to visit again soon and bring my kids next time. This is truely a hidden gem in MO. I'm quite surprised that she isn't busy all summer with how close it is to KC. I'm willing to drive from Tulsa just to camp here.
A perfect spot. Near a creek and a grassy meadow. Barbara and her husband were super kind, making sure I had everything I needed. Will stay again if I am in the area. Highly recommend.
Beautiful campsite and creek
I absolutely loved my time here. I was hoping to be alone in the woods and i got my wish. The other two campsites happened to be vacant! My dog and i loved the creek that runs along the whole property. We spent most of our time playing and exploring in there. Barbara and her husband are both very friendly and helpful but also give you plenty of privacy. Their land is beautiful and i would love to come back.
Barbara and her husband greeted us when we pulled up. The campsite is in back of their property along the creek. You CANNOT drive back there but they got out the 4 wheeler and wagon and loaded all our stuff in there and drove it back to the campsite. It was a short walk...maybe 100 yards. Very private and secluded from host's house. Creek was great! Had 3 otters playing in it middle of the night, heard lots of coyotes and turkeys but no intruders to our camp.
Lovely campsite and host
Lovely place to stay! Campsites are right next to the creek and tucked away at the edge of the property’s large cattle fields, which provide for great stargazing. Campsite number 2 is the most secluded and has a great little clearing. Nice to walk around the property edge, looking forward to seeing it extended further. No view of any other neighbors and plenty of wildlife. During my stay I saw a hawk, a herd of deer, and critters down by the water. Barbara was great to talk to and made me feel right at home! Definitely talk to her for area recommendations(she sent me to a cute diner to try out).
