Wildwood is a small acreage hobby horse farm in a rural setting on large acreage private lake. Two kayaks and a small row boat are available, but bring your own fishing gear. The lake is stocked with bass and brim. You will always catch a fish here!Want to relax? Our farm is peaceful and serene, with local wildlife and great birding opportunities. We have an incredible variety of migratory songbirds that we welcome to the farm each year. You may even get to see bald eagles fishing the lake if you’re quiet. Watch the horses graze in their fields and geese land in the lake as the sun sets. A small slice of heaven on earth, the star gazing is phenomenal on clear nights. The cicadas, crickets and bullfrogs create a natural sound machine for restful nights. No light pollution out here and the Milky Way can be seen.
We are just 15 minutes from 1-55, and 18 minutes to the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway for traveling and cycling. 20 minutes to the Reservoir for large scale fishing, boating and water sports. Level gravel parking area with electric and water availability is right next to our barn. There are bugs (it’s nature) in the spring/summer/fall so please bring bug spray and be prepared. We use Mosquito Spartans to help keep mosquitoes in control.

Horses, fish and sunsets-priceless
Whether you are passing through or a local looking for a close get-a-way, I recommend Wildwood Hipcamp 100%! We spent the holiday weekend at Wildwood and it was fantastic. The property is naturally beautiful, quiet, private and easy to navigate. We had no issues with booking the property last minute. The property is a working horse farm with the campsite being located near the horse barn. Power and water hookups for our RV camper were easily accessible. The camp hosts were inviting and answered all of our questions. There is a beautiful lake on the property just in front of the campsite that is sure to provide you with a fabulous sunset. The lake is stocked with bass and brim. There were many fish caught! The horses who reside at the farm are all friendly and entertaining. Our three teenagers loved the property, the horses and the camp hosts! It is definitely on our list of favorite camping experiences.
This was a gorgeous property. It was enjoyable watching the horses, and our hosts were very gracious. We were also close to the Natchez Trace and were able to take advantage of the bike trail there. This was a very pleasant stay!
Opposite of a crowded rv park!!
This is a great place if you are looking for the opposite of a crowded RV park. This is a beautiful, quiet, clean, safe, and private campsite that perfectly suits our needs and expectations: a quiet site to cook dinner outside with a great view of nature (with the comfort of electricity for our RV). The RV plug-in is down by a barn, looking out on a spectacular small lake and with a green treeline on the opposite shore. I easily turned around my 25' trailer in the small gravel culdesac and backed up to the 30amp hookup with no problems. The owners, animals, and views are amazing! Just remember, you are camping on someone's private property. Expectations are everything: Do not expect a paved state park or RV park with playscapes for kids, extra entertainment, and tons of people. But, of course, this is why we love this place (peace, quiet, privacy, and nature!!)
Wildwood was there perfect stop to and from our destination with our Airstream and two young kids in tow. Helen's communication was excellent. We arrived late in the evening and her instructions to the camp site, which was well lit and level, were helpful. It was a unique experience to wake up next to the beautiful, friendly horses on one side of us and a view of the serene lake on the other. Our kids were welcome to explore the property, which was nice for then to burn some energy. The electric hook-uo and access to water were great amenities. We loved our time at Wildwood and look forward to returning in the future!
We brought our camper for an overnight stay and had a great experience. Helen and her husband were great hosts. We booked very last minute and they were quick to respond and were very accommodating. We’ll definitely be back to take advantage of the lake.
Enjoyed camping under the stars by the lake! Kayaking and fishing was really nice. Other than the owners, we were the only people around. Only thing to note is electricity is about 400 feet from lake to the barn. We used the truck generator but owners offered the use of their power cords also. Overall fantastic experience!
