Welcome to the Burrow, a project of All You Need Institute!

We have 111 acres of diverse and rare habitats including mixed pine and hardwood wood forest, 1+ acre swimmable pond, a springhead/bottomland creek area, and the unique beachy white sands of the seafoam green lichen wonderscape (do not walk on or collect the lichens!!!). There are miles of trails for hiking and plenty of space to just commune with nature.

Our northern boundary is a tract of DeSoto National Forest, where we have practically exclusive access to another 90 acres of longleaf pine savannah and more bottomland creeks. This land is also home to the endangered gopher tortoise (stay at least 15 feet from their burrows!!!), as well as the threatened black pine snake and many other interesting flora and fauna.

All You Need Institute is a grassroots project aimed at developing a nature and sustainable living education center. We aim to live in right relationship with the land and implement conservation practices to increase the biodiversity and health of the ecosystems around us while simultaneously providing for our own needs. We regularly offer educational workshops and retreats on these topics.

Nearby our site are canoeing and kayaking outfitters so that you can plan a trip down the Black Creek or explore DeSoto National forest. We would love to have you stay with us!

Wonderful tent camping- well cared for sites with access to so much. Great little hikes around and the swimming water was beautiful. Will definitely be back!

We stayed at spot #2. The view was awesome and the access to the compost toilet was great. The lake was great, night time was quiet, and it felt very remote. We did wish there was somewhere nearby to dispose of trash but otherwise had a great time.

Beautiful peaceful area, well kept, lovely pond and kayaks available. Roads can be a bit challenging for a sedan (and there’s a neighbor with a dirt bike nearby), but the owners clearly respect their lands and we would definitely come back!

Such a beautiful space nestled in the forest. It was very easy to locate and the hosts were super responsive. Upon arrival we were directed to our site that was very easy to navigate in my car and unload our items for the night. We stayed at site 1 that sat next to a beautiful, crystal clear pond full of (perch, crystal darters, I think?). The water was beautiful and surrounded by trails to explore. The pathed woods were gorgeous will all kinds of moss and wildlife tracks and noises throughout. I would love to go back again to spend more time since we we were only there for about 20 hours. Night time was very quiet with hand drums being played from afar from their base echoing in the distance while we made dinner by our fire. I had some of the best sleep on any camping trip and woke up to a beautiful quiet morning with fog on the lake. The outhouse was even nicely maintained with directions on how to promote composting and sawdust available to cover to keep it clean and smell free.

Probably the most pristine campsite I've ever been to. The pond was clear, and the trails ran throughout the property. Light pollution was low so the stars were very visible. We were there mid-week after Mardi Gras - very peaceful.

We enjoyed the quietness and privacy of the site we had. And being able to take an early morning hike with the pup was a plus.

I was camping in mid-February so I'm just not sure how the camping sites would be if there were other campers - I was the only camper. The hosts were not able to be present when I camped so check-in and directions were a bit casual.

This is a great place to camp. There are a variety of site possibilities with enough space between them to guarantee a quiet, restful night. The trails are also good. Jordan was super helpful as I arrived. I’d definitely come back.
