The vibe at Heavenly Grace Farm
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
A pretty piece of land with a lake and animals roaming around freely. The hostess let me use her giant tent which was set up when I arrived, which served me well through the night’s rain. I would recommend, unless you’re afraid of horses.
A friend and I stayed a night here, while traveling across the country. Really easy to get to (not far off the major highways), the hosts couldn't have been easier to communicate with, everything felt very safe.
They run a petting zoo, so some of the animals live here as well. I personally thought that was a fun bonus! If you explore the yard a bit there are a few different spots to set up a tent, and I believe there's possibly room for a RV as well.
They have 2 property areas - if you're new to camping, or want to be closer to bathrooms and water, go near the house. If you'd like to be a bit more secluded, they also have a separate area that's fenced in and spacious.
All in all, I'd recommend. As I mentioned we stayed while we were on the move - but if you're going to be there for a longer time, it might be possible to interact with the animals (inquire with the host) - and I'd recommend staying at the more rugged location. As a side benefit, you're not too far from New Orleans - if you're looking to explore a bit.
Erica was very accommodating with our school bus, even allowing us to run an extension cord for power. Her property was full of adorable and friendly animals. We made a quick trip to New Orleans and felt safe about leaving our bus and cats behind.
My husband and I were looking for a getaway near our home in Mobile and Heavenly Grace Farms was a great spot for just that not too far from home. We set up camp near the fire pit and enjoyed the view of the roaming alpacas and other animals. We kayaked in the pond and later went on an evening horseback ride. The host family was very gracious and welcoming. We hope to visit HGF again.
