Chris is a great guy, super helpful, and it is a cool property. Reminds me of deer camp My Dad stayed in the cabin with AC, bathroom, and hot shower. I stayed in my small travel trailer. Perfect for us guys.
The digs were simplistic and unpretentious.
I ended up doing a whole lotta nothin’, mostly by design. But I still enjoyed my time. Chris, the groundskeeper, was friendly and helpful. Walking through the woods on property was very pleasant. There were lots of animals around, which I enjoyed. The cabin itself was as advertised and had all I needed.
Amenities don’t match up
Chris, the groundskeeper, was cool but the cabin was pretty dirty even before we got there. Just gritty floors, and other people’s belongings in the cabin. Thought the fire pit would be more convenient for cooking but it’s large and doesn’t have a cover or anything. The grills were all over by the groundskeeper’s residence so it was kind of awkward to do cooking there. Also the firewood bundle was literally just downed branches they found the day we arrived. It was much harder to get a fire started without dried firewood. The paddles for the kayaks disappeared so we couldn’t even take them out.
This site was absolutely stunning. Chris, the grounds keeper, was a gentleman and a scholar in regards to the the surrounding wildlife. All of our needs were promptly taken care of.
The lake was a highlight. Morning and evening dips in the lake made for great memories. Chris’s dinners were 10 out of 10.
We had the best 4th of July weekend we could of asked for.

We had a great stay at John’s camp. The cabin was small just just perfect for what we needed., and air conditioning! The lake was full of fish and the groundskeeper was great at showing us around. My dog loved the water and we are exciting to come back in cooler weather and tent camp.
These people are amazing! I adore their vision and they’re so hospitable and eclectic and creative and kind and… I can’t say enough good things!
After arriving at the cabin area , Chris ( the grounds keeper) greeted us with hospitality. Cabin was great and just as pictured. Only thing was the beautiful stocked pond is on site not at edge of cabin ( grounds keeper will bring you to lake )as well as a kitchen ( not in cabin ) but can be used if needed. if your looking for a off the beaten path, quiet ( more of an adult get away) then this is the place !! John ( host) came out and checked on us! They are in the process of building another cabin and a common area. With a great fire pit in the middle ! The lake was amazing and my favorite part. They even rent tents to stay at lake front ! Go check them out !

Im sorry you were disappointed with your stay. Keep in mind you did come a few days after a hurricane. Perhaps we should have blocked off bookings until we had the site cleaner.
