The campsite is lovely and there are some relatively flat spots for a tent. A short trail through the woods leads to beautiful views of the bog. The campsite is very close to the north section of Sax-Zim Bog and about 20 minutes from the Visitor's Center. Further down E. Stone Lake Rd. is the Blue Dasher Bog trail. The lake, left fork of the road, has a lovely picnic area with vault toilets, fire rings, picnic tables , boat ramp, and dock.

This is just the kind of hidden gem you love to find.

There are deer, squirrel, chipmunks, turtles and birds including Pileated Woodpeckers, Barred Owls and Common Loons on the lake. You will less than expect mosquitoes.

I can’t write a review. I abandoned the campsite a few hours after arrivalp in a torrential rain storm.

Super cute area to stay in! It was like we had the safety in a “neighborhood” yet we were also in the woods. We also found some super cool rare plants that you don’t get to normally see in a super populated camp ground. Tons of privacy too!
