Schmidt's Cabin
Very disappointed and had to leave
I would not recommend this property to anyone. I read through the description (at the time) and understood the property had a small waterfall and rustic cabin. In fact the cabin looks like a setting for a disturbing horror film and the waterfall is not even on the property. There are instructions for the camper's inside the cabin which was the first time we were instructed not to go onto the neighboring property ( the pic you see with the rocky falls formation). We fully expected "rustic", however, the strong odor and filth inside the cabin was alarming. Once we arrived and saw the no trespassing signs, I contacted the host and was told not to go onto the property with the falls because it belongs to the neighbor who didn't want anyone there. There is also a small stagnant pond (not pictured) on the property next to the cabin. The mosquitoes from the still water are so pervasive, that you can't enjoy being outside even with all the bug spray in the world. My family and I are no lightweights to camping. We've been enjoying the outdoors for years. There was nothing in me that wanted to have to rebook a new location, travel an extra hour and a half and loose $200. But, there was no help from the host and we had no other option. As far as pros of this property, the foliage and "backdrop" of the cabin are charming. What you see in the pic is infact what it looks like. But there are more undesirable aspects that are not pictured. I strongly caution you to know what you're getting into before booking this property.

Schmidt's Cabin
True Treasure
This campsite is a true treasure. Very secluded site with an old cabin & waterfall as backdrops. We camped on 4th of July weekend in complete privacy. Rustic site that you can drive into with fire wood provided. Highly recommended!!!!!

Karen was very helpful, and the directions easy to follow, and the entrance clearly marked. Lovely area with creek sounds and frogs for the soundtrack

The neighbors were a little loud, but over all it was a great experience!! The stream was gorgeous and I loved being able to constantly hear the water moving in the background
