Very personable and kind host who made sure we knew exactly where to set up camp on the property. Loved having a bit more privacy behind their beautiful garden and apple trees. Very prompt communication via text was great too! Property was very well-maintained and it’s obvious that hosts love living here. Outhouse was very clean and stocked with TP and sanitizer. Very comfortable stay and highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay near Jay Cooke and Duluth area.
My dogs loved it!
We had an amazing stay! My partner and I were on a cross country road trip with our travel trailer and 2 dogs. We wanted to stay in the Duluth area for a couple nights but completely spaced that it was Labor Day weekend so all of the campgrounds were booked. Luckily we found John's property on Hipcamp and honestly it was so much better than any campground. John welcomed us with a jar of his wifes homemade jam and showed us to our campsite. It was perfect and beautiful. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone.
There is ample space for a sense of privacy, and room to walk around with my dogs and play games. Gorgeous flower garden and veggie garden, beautiful property, friendly host... Happy camper right here!
John was very helpful and informative with instructions to get us to his place. When we arrived he was very kind, courious, and accommodating. He made sure to give us a gift of his wife's homemade jam too. He showed us where we could find outdoor games and purchase yummy items and cute things his wife had available. This location is truly quiet and peaceful. I would recommend this hipcamp location to anyone.
A secluded spot just outside of town. I was met by John and was given a tour of his property. Campers are also given a swag bag on arrival. Mine held a small jar of strawberry rhubarb jam. There is firewood, water, outhouse and a small store on the property. John and his wife were very accommodating.
