Marko was an amazing host and we can’t wait to go back! The cabin is cozy and very spacious, I’m so happy we had access to a fridge. The property is beautiful, my son ran and swam his little heart out. We took out the boats and explored all around birch lake which was so relaxing and beautiful. Definitely a new favorite summer spot for our family.

Fantastic spot on Birch Lake! Sandy beach and good fishing right from the dock in front of the cabin. Marko is a great host, very responsive and helpful. The cabin is rustic but clean and has all the basic stuff you need for an enjoyable stay.

Our stay at the cabin was perfect for us. We are a group of laid back ladies that like to go on a weekend trip every spring. The Host was a cool guy, he checked in with us a few times and answered any questions we had. We went on a hike to the water falls, it was said that it was flowing harder then it had in 40 years. Ely was very close by and we found plenty to do!Even with our rainy weekend this spot was perfect for our spring trip. Definitely an amazing spot for fishing. The beach area was nice and clean. Even caught a northern right off the doc. They had a gas and charcoal grill that we could use and plenty of fire wood. There was a small row boat with a trolling motor, paddle boat and a canoe that we could use. The Host Marco was kind enough to let us go explore his little island. In our evenings we enjoyed looking at some of the old unique books and played some of the old games that were also at the cabin. Overall this was perfect for our group. We hope to come again!

Also if your comfortable in a more rustic location and traditional outhouse. (Meaning a few cob and some dust with a hint of must) Then this remote location had ample opportunities to explore and a very relaxing vibe. It felt very private but we felt very supported by the host.

The Cabin was a remarkable place. One could say they could lose themselves for hours viewing the moon at the edge of the dock, with islands resting just within view. Between this and the fireplace and a perfect setting for a game of cribbage within the walls of the cabin, one could say they couldn’t ask for a more serene setting

Rustic old cabin with a fun history, beautiful location on a lake and a welcoming and helpful host. This is a great get-away for us after our BWCA trip was cancelled due to the fires. We had the chance to paddle, portage, hike, cook camp food and still stay dry. Would stay again. 🏕️

Awesome place! Right on the water. Only thing is bring a camping toilet or drive 10 minutes to town the outhouse is infested with giant wolf spiders otherwise I definitely recommend staying here. very cool old cabin stayed nice and cool even though it was fairly hotout and my kids had a blast swimming and using the hammock.
