Our own little 40 acres of earth to care for. A mix of meadow, woods and lowland, not too close to Minneapolis and not too far away either.

The location was nice and remote. Lots of animals sounds throughout the day and night, which was to be expected. However, one night of our stay we were woken by several gunshots. This was very alarming. The path was mowed, but only about a foot wide. The grass is very long and attracts tons of bugs. We had Woodticks crawling up our tent and chairs and everything. There could be more work done to cut down some surrounding grass to try and make the big and tick situation more bearable.

Great overnight camping trip
My husband and I camped here with our 3 boys last weekend. We had a great stay! Our hosts were very friendly and answered all the questions I had. Didnt get to see much wildlife (my boys are not very quiet), but heard wildlife noises all night and the turkeys in the morning. The firepit was awesome and we had all the firewood we needed. The sink is a great addition and there were extra supplies at the campsite as well. The only thing I would do different next time is bring more bug spray and pack a little lighter! The mosquitoes were thick, but thats pretty normal for Minnesota. The distance from the parking spot to the campsite was just a tad long, but definitely made the campsite feel more secluded. 10/10 will be camping there again!

Beautiful area area all to ourselves. We set up camp, ate some food, drove then hiked to the waterfall in Banning state park and swam in the waterfall pool. Came back. Flew kites on the hill. Made a fire in the spacious fire area. Cooked up some burgers and veggie foil packets. Roasted some marshmallows and watched the stars It’s about a 200 foot trail walk to the campsite which was a nice separation from our cars and the road. The camp/kitchen area with the cast iron sink made it easy to cook and wash dishes. We generally don’t repeat campsites, but if we did, this would be tops on the list

This was just what we were looking for in getting out of the cities for a weekend. The site is not a farm like I thought it might be. It is more of a meadow with a grove of trees where the tent pads, fire pit and outhouse are located providing good privacy. The road is nearby but it is a dirt backroad that seems to rarely be used. We liked how there was a tent pad near the fire pit and the toilet was only a couple minutes walk from there. There were a lot of neighbors like cows, turkeys and coyotes that we got to listen to at night and in the morning. Didn’t smell the cows though. The hosts provided great directions for finding the site as well as a map. Great communication as well. Thanks! We really enjoyed our time camping here and would definitely come back again.

The site was gorgeous. There was firewood provided and the bathroom was very clean. Lots of critters to enjoy and the surrounding area was great to look at while sitting by the fire in the morning. Would camp here again!
