If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We have been going to Floodwood Campground for bear camp the last 20 years and love it! Although it’s in town, it is secluded and nestled along the river side. We love the flourish of trees and being able to walk down by the river. The sites are good size and enough area to make your own space. We bring our own items to keep kids busy and it is a full camping experience. Bathrooms have everything you need, but could use some updating. The hosts are resourceful, friendly and accommodating. Can’t wait for next year!
We will return..
We are always looking for different camping trips, and my wife found Floodwood Campgrounds.
Our first impression looking at the Hipcamp site and reading Porsha’s input on what was available in the area to do made us want to book the site.
We had another couple with us that also booked a site next to us.
We were able to drive right to our site and set up.
There is a lot of history in this little community.
It’s the Catfish Capital of the … well I’ll say the world.. Don’t know if that’s true.
The campground is located just on the edge of town on the St.Louis river that eventually makes it to Lake Superior. There are three other rivers that meet and make their way into the St. Louis river and into Superior.
The main street of Floodwood is within walking distance.
With Restaurants and Bar and grills, we ended up taking alot of our meals that we planned on eating at the campground home.
Our site was on the river and we had well over a hundred geese that we watched all weekend.
There are walking and biking trails that you can access from the campground.
The hosts at the campground are super accommodating.
They are working at upgrading the campground.
I would highly recommend this place !!
It is a work in progress, but talking to the hosts they want to make your stay a memorable one !!
This place is awesome! Unique that you are right at the edge of town. We had a good time. Love the site, walking paths, car show that happened to be going on. Hit showers, biffys....i could keep going on and on. We will definitely be back!
