This site was so great and the view was truly spectacular! Allen was extremely friendly, and let us fill our water jug and gave us a ride up in his side by side when we realized that our wood was too heavy to hike up with. FYI, the hike up is steep and there is no way that a car could get up there. I imagine that it's difficult enough to walk up when it has just rained as well and would rate it a difficult/strenuous hike up. We hiked down ourselves in the morning after we had burned the wood and that was no problem, just a little steep. There are cows grazing on the property in the area where you camp, just so you're aware. The site itself consists of two large logs set up for sitting and a nice big fire pit on a piece of open ground. Do yourself a favor and walk a short ways down to the scenic overlook for some reflection time. The view is a breath-taking blufftop view of the Mississippi River Valley. Be sure to get a warm welcome and farewell from Fat Cat! We had a wonderful experience and would definitely visit again!
Amazing views, kind hosts and cows!
Allen and his property was the perfect first camping trip using Hipcamp. We were blown away by the beauty of the property and how this experience compared to state run campgrounds. Excellent service and incredibly kind hosts. 5/5 and will be recommending anyone to camp at Allen's ground!
Had an awesome time camping and really enjoyed the private campsite and beautiful views nearby!

Bluffscapes was the perfect get away. I stayed at site 1 and enjoyed the many hiking trails on Allen’s property!
We spent the night on our way west. Al is an awewome host. We arrived late and he had wood ready for us. Awesome view of the night sky.
Would stay again and recomend!
Loved staying at Bluffscapes! We were at site number one and it was a gem. It is quite a steep hike (took us 18 min) up but manageable with our items as we had backpacking packs. The view between the sites is very lovely! Lots of birds and even saw some deer as well!
Bluffscapes is the perfect place to get away. Al is a great host! When we first arrived he told us about the property, showed us where we needed to hike, and made himself available in case we needed anything. The location is amazing. The hike is very steep so be prepared for a workout but the views are worth it! We will definitely be returning!
Al , the host, was great. Really nice guy. The site (site 1) was excellent. Short hike in. Just enough to make you feel like you aren't car camping. Nice views of the Mississippi. The fire pit was set up well with a log to sit on (a second would be nice for the full family!) and some strategically placed rocks. Site wasn't perfectly level but good enough. Some car, boat, and train noise but still very relaxing. We will come back again for fall colors and to explore the nearby state parks.
