It's hard to believe you're in the city of Duluth when camped here at Listening Point. This campsite is surrounded by a beautiful forest on every side. The popup trailer is perched on one of the highest points of the property, and through the trees the vista is splendid. Inside the camper you'll find almost all the comforts of home. On one end is a spacious king size bed and the other end has a full size bed. The table folds down to a single bed. ****Be sure to bring sleeping bags or your own bedding.**** The table seats four comfortably and a propane heater will keep everyone toasty on the cooler nights in Duluth. The kitchen is typical of a camper with a three-burner stove, small electric refrigerator, and sink for washing dishes. The cupboards have a few pots and pans and blue tin camp dishes for 6 people. Some basic silverware, knife, spatula and miscellaneous items are in the drawers. We'll leave a stainless steel container of drinking water on the counter and a water spigot is just outside the camper. The outhouse is just a short walk down the main road.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Despite two days of rain and 50 degree weather, we were warm and dry in the poptop camper high atop listening point. My wife and I came North from Madison to visit our daugher who lives in Duluth. Linda and Chris warmly welcomed us and as they guided us around their piece of heaven.
Too many small details to list here created a unique and memorable experience during our 3 day visit. This was capped by a magical piano performance and sign along with fellow guests on the communal back porch (stage). A visit is recommended. We know we will return.
Thank you Linda and Chris
Family of 5 in a pop-up camper
Our family of 5 had an amazing time and would highly recommend to anyone with or without kiddos in tow. The pop-up camper we stayed in was immaculate and way more spacious than I thought (it had also rained several inches before we stayed in it, and it was not affected at all by the weather!). The entire grounds are charming, welcoming, and the multiple sites felt secluded enough from each other. The amenities are excellent (our family enjoyed the swings and the pond). To top it off, the hosts were excellent and I shared some great conversation with them while there. I look forward to staying again soon!
Listening Point was great. We enjoyed staying in the camper and being surrounded by trees. We also had a great time on the swings and hiking the trails connected to the property. Linda and Chris we’re very friendly!
Beautiful setting. Very quiet, great place to just be quiet. I stayed in the pop up camper. Very, clean. Compostable toilet was very close and easy to get to at night. I had a couple of deer bed down next to my area, we both were startled when I walked to the camper after dark. But once we realized we were all safe they majestically disappeared into the woods.
Stop looking & book now!!
This was by far one of our very favorite places to stay at!! We were looking for a few days in Duluth on our way up north & if we knew what we know now, we wish we would’ve stayed there longer. Linda & Chris thought I’d EVERYTHING - from the beautiful lighting, heating bedding, French press, multiple swings, fishing poles & even a piano on the grounds! Stop looking around and book now!! And go ahead and add on a few extra days because you’re not going to want to leave. What a gift this place & these people are! It’s the perfect blend of feeling like you’re in the beautiful wilderness while maintaining some of the modern conveniences. We hope to come back one day!
Balsam Ridge Retreat is such a special place. We like staying at Listening Point, where you can see all the glowing fairy lights strung along the pathways from the comfortable beds inside the trailer. All of the sites are wonderful!
