Sheila is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
This property was once part of an 80 acre farm. It has now grown into a mature forest with deer, turkey, squirrels, chipmunks and many types of songbirds. Sheila grew up just across the road and spent many hours riding her horse and writing poetry on the property. As a retired artist, we love to entertain creative peaceful people and many think of our place as a quiet sanctuary that encourages creativity. We provide games, both outdoor and indoor, a screen house, hammock, nature trails and a new camp store with local items and snacks. There is an Amish community close by and a tour map is provided. We are also close to the largest canopy walk in the US at Whiting Forest and Dow Gardens. Only 25 minutes away. There is a small water park in the closest town with a beach. Locally there is tubing and canoeing at the Cedar River in Gladwin and kayaking at Pinconning Park on Saginaw Bay.

Crow's Nest
A very nice, cozy little cabin and great amenities for the price. Loads of land, cute little garden, and although we just barely missed the mushrooms, there is apparently always a good crop- Must come earlier next year. A bit of user error on our part because we thought there was nothing to cover the sliding glass doors on either side of the cabin, so we put up sheets…only to discover when we left that there were shutters on the outside all along! Just a tip for anyone as unobservant as as ourselves lol. Sheila was extremely friendly and helpful, and directed us to several places in the area. We also enjoyed the little store on the property. We didn’t need to buy anything, but it would be useful if we had forgotten anything.

Sheila was an awesome host and her space is perfect! The cabin is clean and has everything you need, surrounded by trails and beautiful trees. She worked with us when I made a mistake with booking and was flexible to our needs. 10 out of 10.

Camp Wiigwaas (wigwam)
Quaint little space in the woods
I love this space! It’s so cute and the wigwam really cuts down on how much we have to pack! This trip was awesome and i’ll definitely be bringing more people here.

Exhaling at the crows nest
It was so lovely staying at the Crow’s Nest. The cabin is sweet and the decor is lovely. The setting is beautiful and serene. Sheila has artistic touches everywhere - even on the walking path. She is warm and inviting, available and responsive. I will definitely return!

Crow's Nest
Cabin was cute and cozy and had everything we needed. Nestled under a canopy of trees, with a winding walking path through the property added to the whole allure.

Crow's Nest
Prime Hipcamp Spot
We had an absolutely great time at this location. Sheila and Jeff went above and beyond in more than one area and I'd recommend this to any camping enthusiast. The boardwalk added a really cool touch and the 'backyard' of the cabin had a hiking trail, gas stove, picnic table, fire pit, and wood/kindling. The cabin was super cool with pretty much everything you would need. We saw deer AND wild turkeys not far from the cabin, too! Sheila even came by and offered us some awesome fresh veggies from their garden! Great experience with thoughtful, nature-loving hosts. -Josh
