Everything was ready upon arrival and there was always great communication from the friendly hosts. Tent was comfortable and clean, had everything we expected and easily fit our party of 4. Great location right on the river with rentals available on site for kayaks and canoes. Location was quiet (only one other campsite nearby) and had beautiful views. One downside is there are train tracks nearby and both mornings around (7am) the train came through and blew its horn. Easily solved with earplugs if you are not an early riser! It was also a short drive to town with so many things to do it was hard to decide! (Beach, shops, restaurants etc) Great experience overall and we will definitely be back!

I would definitely recommend this campsite! This was originally supposed to be a trip with adult friends but our plans changed and ended up being a family outing (2 adults 2 kids.) It would have worked really well for either. The site is well equipped, just as described, and conveniently located near lots of fun things to do.

The property is beautiful right on the Kalamazoo River. It feels private. The host was accommodating for all of our guests with clean lines and a few extra beds. They provide chairs, a fire pit, firewood, air mattresses, linens, a lantern, and outlets for charging phones/running a fan. You will not need to bring much! I will say for the price, they could have included a kayak or canoe rental. It is an extra $30-40. And the river isn’t great for swimming. Overall, it was a great stay with great hosts!

With such short notice, Riverside Retreat offered an easy glamping style campground at a great price. The Riverbend Depot site was great, and made trip a breeze so we could focus on relaxing, cooking, and exploring the area. Having access to kayaks and canoe trips was a great bonus. I would say this spot is a well balanced hybrid of camping and glamping.

Julie was very attentive to our questions and necessities.

The property is a great balance of solitude, nature, wildlife, and beauty. Positioned right on the river bend at the end of a dead end road. There is an occasional train that passes by. A nearby park trail provides some historical context to the area.

We will be back, with friends!

Had an amazing short stay at the Riverbend Depot! The hosts were super accommodating with the whole space cleaned, fresh water available, and a nice space ready for our stay. While there we were able to see adult turtles, turtle nests/eggs, various birds, and other wildlife that came through the area. Hope to be able to visit again in the future!

A great place to get away for the weekend! This adorable structure sits on the river bed where you can kayak or canoe! Great place for a campfire at night and grilling some dinner! We will be back! Thanks!
