We loved tent camping at Moss n' Mushrooms. The Hosts, Justin and Sarah (and their two adorable daughters) could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. When we arrived, the entire family welcomed us and helped us find our site. The sites are tucked away within the trees, offering good privacy. Justin checked in with us once a day to make sure we had what we needed. We also learned how his family found themselves on this land, the events they run, and their focus on building an amazing community around them. A few things we did while staying there: Kayaking on the Chippewa River, stargazing/night photography, walking the property (lots of cool things scattered all over), and a delicious breakfast at KJ's.
This was such a great spot to camp. They really put in the effort to make it a great place- the trails and maps were fun and the actual campsite are beautiful and spacious. I loved that there were common areas too like the hammocks (no one else was there when we were though). They give you plenty of fire wood and were so welcoming. We got caught in a huge storm in the morning and they let us stay past checkout to get all of our stuff packed up too. The bathroom was super nice and my dog looooved the goats. I plan to come back again!
My husband and I had a fantastic weekend with a very clean, shaded, and semi-secluded campsite. Sarah and Justin were both very kind and provided great directions and suggested a day at Tubbs Lake which was exactly what we were looking for a nice swim! We definitely plan on taking another weekend trip here!
I loved staying in Justin's land. The site is beautiful with a lot of trees, well marked trails and amenities like restroom and hot shower. Definitely recommended!
The site we were given was absolutely stunning! We had 6 of us total, and 2 dogs. We had absolute privacy, which was perfect because the dogs have lots of anxiety. Justin was very responsive and flexible as my plans did change a few times. (Had a possibility of 8 people camping total). The porta potty was very clean. The hammock circle on site was one of the coolest features. The shower on site is pretty cool and very warm!
I would say, the rules are pretty strict here. I had no service, so one of the people joining me didn't get my text with instructions to check in. When he passed the check in, the host tried to flag him down. The member of my party thought it was a friendly wave. They were then followed to the campsite and scolded pretty harshly. There wasn't much kindness or understanding for the mixup in the moment. We are a rule following bunch. As a result most of us felt nervous coming/going from the campsite after, or even exploring the site beyond our spot.

Had an amazing experience on Justin’s property! Wonderful family, beautiful farm and property, and super private. 10/10 would recommend.
The site was large, private and had tons of shade. We loved all the fun quirky signs and personal touches throughout the camp. A lot of creative additions and touches that really made it feel special. Justin and his wife were very kind and welcoming and were quick to respond to anything we needed. Gave us some great tips on where to kayak for the day.
Would definitely recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat.
The site is amazing! The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. You could walk around the land and enjoy. Bathroom and hand washing stations on site. Beaches nearby. Fresh eggs on site which helped save room in our cooler when we packed. Justin and his wife and kids were very nice, accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Would definitely recommend as a great weekend getaway.
