Nice site, too bad about the noise.
Melissa is very responsive and helpful and made sure that we got located and set up quickly and easily. The campsite is arranged as a pull-through and was easy for our car and small pop-up. It is a well shaded and private site on the edge of a field. A nice table, fire ring and lighted umbrella make it work well for camping. Unfortunately, our canvas sided pop-up was not a good fit for the level of noise from the roads and neighborhood nearby. Sport truck and car acceleration on the nearby road lasted past 2:00 a.m. on the Saturday night we stayed and chainsaw activity kicked off early on Sunday, so we got very little sleep and decided to leave a day early. If you have an RV or hard shell camper, this could be a good choice, but if canvas is your thing you might want to choose something else. Bring a supply of drinking water too, as the water supply is dedicated to the shower setup.
Best camp site ever!
We just had the most amazing Labor Day Weekend here. Melissa and her husband were amazing hosts. They were there waiting for us to arrive after dark and even let us take our time and leave a couple hours late because the site was not booked for the day we left.
I like to compare Hip Camp spots to normal camp grounds and state parks. This was one of the best camp sites I've ever had. It was HUGE! And tucked away in a wooded area next to a sun flower field. Melissa added a private hot shower and composting toilet before our stay. It put this place over the top. And the picnic table pictured is even better than it looks.
The site was totally private. We didn't see any other campers. There is every kind of shopping and eating your need right around the corner. We noticed some street noise but not a big deal. Way better than having cars driving right by your site like in normal campgrounds.
I will be back for sure. We enjoyed it so much we barely left the campsite. Just spent lots of family time laughing and playing games. I highly recommend this spot. Next time we will bring more people to take advantage of all the space.
Very serene. Hosts Melissa and Jason were very gracious and made sure I had everything I needed. The warning in the description about road noise was totally unnecessary. I had a very quiet nights sleep. I definitely would stay here again. It is close to everything but you feel as though your in the wild.
Great little spot in the woods. It’s quiet and you feel right out in nature. The fire pit was loaded and ready for us when we pulled in. The tiki torches were a cute addition to the site. Melissa was so flexible when we were pulling in late because of traffic. I’m sorry we missed seeing the sunflowers bloom.
