The tiny cabin is 80 square feet and built with already felled wood from our property. The two enclosed sleeper shelters were also build from already felled trees. Firepit with seating all around. Fire ring, grill over fire ring and wood provided. Campground nestled in the middle of the woods. Camp site is located on a 33 acre property that is bordered by the St. Joseph's river.
The tiny cabin has a mattress and small prep and storage area. The enclosed sleeper shelters have slide open doors and you crawl in to sleep, no mattresses provided. These are basic shelters and there is no electricity at this campsite.
Outhouse provided that is sawdust based.
Walking paths through the 33 acres of woods and field. During wet seasons, the lower trails will be flooded and/or muddy. Our dirt road is part of the North Country Trail, which is over 4,600 miles of trail. There are other hiking areas in the area to include Lost Nations.
The St. Joseph's river is on the property which is a five minute walk from the camp site. The river can be kayaked however, trees fall creating obstacles and can be shallow when it hasn't rained. This river is very scenic from Jonesville to Litchfield and extremely secluded, it is a hidden gem. For a fee, we provide kayaks and, if needed, transportation to where you want to kayak. The Kalamazoo river is less than 15 minutes away and is also a great place to kayak albeit on the good days is crowded.
Like shopping? Antique shops within 15 minutes. The city of Allen is the Antique capitol of Michigan.
There are many food shopping markets in the area. If our hens are laying in abundance you may score some farm fresh eggs too.
Mosquitos/bugs are included, there is no stopping them. When it is not winter, bring bug spray.
*WARNING* We have cats & dogs, hens & a rooster and other wildlife. Solomon and Ruth (dogs) greet everyone, they will get bored with you and leave. Ruth is guarded and just needs to be told she is a good girl. The chickens are guarded with an electric fence and the two roosters crow, whenever they like. There are cows down the road and you may smell them if the wind is right (doesn't happen often). The cats are barn cats and roam. It is their job to deter and stop the life of small rodents and they do. There are also coyotes, eagles, and owls, which prey on small animals. *WARNING*. And now Beavers
*CAUTION* We have had storms late summer 2021 that took down many, many trees. This has impacted trails on the property and the river. We are diligently working on cleanup. *CAUTION*

Amazing self sustained property and gracious hosts. Ann and her husband where eager to help with anything and everything. The property is full of wild life from deer, to rabbits and birds, oh he’s and mosquitoes you can deff get carried away if you forget the spray! DONT FORGET THE SPRAY! We made some amazing food around the fire and the pups enjoyed a swim in the river that is a short walk from camp. Overall awesome overnighter wish we had more time.

lovely
What a great place ! Mac and Ann are super friendly and I really enjoyed meeting them both. My trip there was short and I will certainly be coming back. I camped there on a cold day but was able to keep the cabin nice and warm with a small Little buddy heater. The structure is very well built and didnt let much of the cold inside. The fire pit area is AWESOME and Mac had plenty of firewood ready to go. the cabin is just a short walk from the parking spot and they even has a sled for me to get my gear to the camping area. Overall super great people on a great piece of land. Cany say enough good things about my experience. THANKS SO SO MUCH !!!! Keith
